Hello does anyone know if we can find details of what excursions / trips that virgin do before we go? We went in June 2004 and we stayed off site and did the last day breakfast at grand floridan and was taken to downtown disney to check in, this was a nice way to finish our holiday. Now does anyone know if they still do this and can we do it if we are staying onsite at allstars movies or is it just for those off site?

Here's a link to the current pre-bookable and in-resort excursions.

There's nothing to stop you booking your own breakfast at the Grand Floridian (or anywhere else onsite for that matter) and just getting a cab or Disney bus to Downtown Disney. A cab would probably be the best option as you'd be able to be dropped right next to the Virgin check-in area.

We did think about that but we would have to take our luggage with us, when we did the virgin experience everything was taken care of and was very relaxing and hassle free. When we went in Nov 2005 we took a taxi direct to downtown check-in and the price we paid was silly compare to the package we got with virgin taking us everywhere and a breakfast. Oh i hope they do do it.

Thanks for the link about to have a look.

:thumbsup2 We just booked a Shopping Extravaganza trip with our rep Linda and a Departure Day Breakfast at 1900 Park Fare, you can email them at orlandorep@fly.virgin.com to arange them direct with your rep.
You will need to send them your booking reference, lead name, email address and telephone number and let them know what you might be interested in doing before you make your booking. They are great at getting in touch with you a.s.a.p.
You should receive vouchers for your excursions with your holiday tickets (so I've been told) and they have a desk in MCO if you want to talk to them when you land.:thumbsup2
BTW the shopping trip picks up and drops off at the All Star Movies which is were we are stopping too!

Thanks ever so much wifey thats just what i needed, i am going to e-mail them right now and find out more details of what i can book.

Anyone done the kennedy trip-how long do you get there? I've done the Space centre a couple of times but I know DBf would like it, and I could book it as a surprise:love: So if anyone can give me any logistical details-times, pick-ups etc I'd be v v grateful.:goodvibes

 I think the last time we went to Kennedy Space Center in '05 (we booked through our hotel guest services) we were picked up around 8.45am then on to a couple of other hotels and we hit the road about 9.45am.We were there for around 11am and the bus left again at 4pm so we got a good 5 hours and we managed to do the bus tour out to the viewing platform etc. All in all a great day.

Please be aware of the security checks before you enter they can hold you up for about 10 mins.

Just a word of warning make sure any kids in your family use the restrooms before boarding the bus, a small child was almost caught short on our bus her parents had to plead with the bus driver to let her use the on-board toilet everyone could see how desperate she was except him.Once she managed to go she was fine and the toilet was left clean don't know why the driver was so against anyone using it:confused3

DH did that trip in 2004 (sadly DD was exhausted that day so we didn't go) and it was great - he just wished he'd bought more than 1 pair of the Ralph Lauren Jeans (@ £10 he thought they were too good to be true but they weren't!)

Is the shopping trip all day, how does it work? Where do you go? Its something we are keen on booking.

Donna

:thumbsup2 On a previous trip we were picked up early 7.15 am and taken for a buffet breakfast at a Sizzler then back on the bus to the World of Denim the Reebok outlet and the Lake buena Vista Factory Outlets for around an hour and a half give or take a few minutes travelling and on to a Super Target for a couple of hours and the up to the Florida Mall for about 3 or 4 hours including a lunch stop and back to the hotel around 5.30 6pm ish. Hope it helps you figure out what one of these days is like, just a note though this was back in 1998 it will have probably changed slightly LOL
