We are travelling to Orlando in July....our first trip flying with Virgin.

FIL, who is travelling with us, cannot walk any great distance and we have requested assistance.....wheelchair from check in to gate at both MAN and MCO. I think I remember reading before Downtown Disney check in was abolished and then reinstated that passengers requiring assistance could not check in at Downtown Disney. Unfortunately, I can't find the thread:(

Can anyone confirm whether passengers requiring assistance can use this facility?

Hi amf:wave2:

Downtown Disney check-in is reinstated, we got our vouchers in with our tickets last week. There is nothing on the voucher that says anyone who needs assistance cant use it.

The only terms & conditions on the voucher are:
This voucher is only valid for travel up to 30 June 2004 (we leave this thursday)
This voucher is only for Virgin Holidays passengers & is strictly not transferable.

Luv Audrey,
xxxxxxxxxx

Hi Audrey:D

Many thanks for your comments. As we are not going with Virgin Hols (DIY holiday, flights with Virgin) I gather that there is a $5 per head charge. If we can use this facility it'll be well worth it:sunny:

I'm sure that you'll all have a great time::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo ....got room in your case for a big yin?:earseek:

Hi Alex, anyone flying with Virgin can use the DTD checkin on the day of their flight (not like twilight checkin the day before) between the hours of 8:30am & 1pm, for $5pp.

..so, having used DTD Virgin check-in, what time do you need to be at MCO before your flight?

Thanks Nick:D I don't know if I imagined reading that guests requiring special assistance couldn't use DTD check in....it was a long time ago - and maybe I was sober at the time;) It will certainly be great if its available. I hope you all have a great time over the pond at Easter:D

Mike, I have copied an answer given by Rob on another thread. Hope you don't mind Rob.

Virgin provide a check-in desk at Downtown Disney for passengers on their flights. Downtown Disney is the shopping/entertainment complex on Disney's property, and being able to check-in there means you can make the most of the last day of your holiday. Check-in with Virgin at Downtown Disney at 9am on yopur last day and you still have a pretty much full day to visit the parks, etc. As you will already have checked in your luggage and goy your boarding passes you do not neeed to get to the airport until 45 minutes before your flight.

Regards

Rob

Do you need to pre book this. We are going on virgin flights but have not booked through virgin holidays so we will pay $5. Can you just pay(providing youve any money left) when you check in?
