Hi

Does anybody know if all of your traveling party have to be present to check in at Downtown Disney or can one member check everyone in?

Cheers

A couple of years since we did it but it was everyone had to be there then. It's just like the aiport checkin.

Thanks for that. Thought we all would have to be there. Might see you there on the 29th October!! We are on the 1.45pm flight from Manchester on the 15th.

Just to confirm that it is all of the party. They need to check you against your passport photo - exactly the same as they do in the airport :thumbsup2

We are on the 10.25 same day from Manchester.

Not thought about doing downtown check in this time for some reason - is it still $10 a person?

Yes it is $10 per person, but our flight home isn't until 20.25 so with 2 kids in tow, I will be paying it as I don't want to lug 4 cases around with me all day. Unless there are alternatives??

Last time we went was before we had kids and we did downtown disney check in although it was free then! It was worth it to enjoy the last few hours.

Alternative would be to leave luggage with bell services.

Last trip we did magical express, hence no DTD check in.

Do you pre book DTD check in or just turn up - can't remember.

We're on the earlier evening flight back.

Hi

No you do not have to pre-book Virgin DTD checkin you just turn up, although they are only open for a few hours in the morning. (think it was 8.30am -12 but can't really remember as it was December when we last used it)

IMO we always prefer DTD checkin, as you get your boarding cards etc, and have the advantage of getting rid or your luggage, so you can enjoy your last few hours:sad1: without any worry. It also means that once you get to the airport all you have to carry into the airport is your handluggage.:yay:

Just used it to check in, took about 25 mins includingabit of luggage shuffling so not bad :)

:goodvibes

We used it back in May and all of us were present, as you have to present passports.

It was a great service, we'd definately use it again in future trips, well worth the $10 each.

just noticed on our confirmation that our car is supposed to be back for 12pm and our flight home is 1930.We planned to use DTD check in and go to parks for the day before dropping car off at airport.
Has anyone phoned to chase car drop off time and is there any charge for this?

they can charge extra if you dont return on time, and the charges could be high (additional day at rack rate plus insurance etc) there is normally a grace period but i wouldnt know what it is.

if i was you, i would see if i could ammend the booking.

Hey sorry for gate crashing but another question on the check in,We have used this before and it was great but we still went to airport the usual 2/3 hours before depart.

We will be using ME both this year and next year when using DTD check in what time do people usually get to airport for, going to be using the 20:55 flight from MCO got to maximise those Disney hours! :thumbsup2

We still always allow a couple of hours but in theory you could leave it a lot later having checked in already.....

Again - we always allow a couple of hours for security, but we are not that familiar with the airport, so am always worried about how long it takes to get around.

In the current Virgin brochure, it clearly says that check in is free!Is the $10 charge still applicable?

Another question if nobody minds. Can you pay for an extra bag at DTD checkin or can you only do that at the airport.
