We have booked a Fly-drive with Virgin and have a voucher for the car rental from Dollar. We haven't done the Virgin/Dollar combination for a good few years, so I can't remember the routine!

Do we have to queue at a Virgin desk when we arrive in Orlando International, or do we just go with our voucher straight to the Dollar desk? (I'm also a Frequent Virgin, if that makes any difference to where we need to go).

Thanks :)

Hilary,

If you have a Dollar voucher, I think you would have to go to the regular Dollar desk and not the Virgin one. However because you are a FV , I would think you would be able to join the FV line at the Virgin desk. There are usually plenty of Virgin reps directing you to the desks. After you go downstairs from the 2nd carousel the Dollar desk is on the right and the Virgin/Dollar desk is on the left and has a seperate line for FV's. Someone else may be able to comfirm which desk you go to.

Yes it's the virgin desk if you are going on a fly-drive. It's on the left just about opposite the dollar desk and there is a "special" queue for us frequent virgins. :D

Sorry to differ in August we went straight to the dollar desk, with no problems. We were not FV although we will be in 257 days

Hi,
Dollar have a "dedicated" Virgin holiday's desk and this in turn has a frequent Virgin desk, however my experience is that there are so many FV's now the queue is often longer than the main Dollar desk.

We went in september and went straight to the virgin dollar desk. We aren't FV

Thanks for the replies, guys! :)

I'm more confused than ever, LOL..................

So, if there's a long queue at the FV desk, is there any point waiting there or should I head straight over to the Dollar desk? I already have the complimentary upgrade noted on the car voucher.

Hilary,

If you have the complimentary upgrade on the voucher, I would go to whichever queue has the least people - at the end of the day, its all Dollar.

When we arrived at MCO a couple of weeks back, i just went in the regular Virgin line (we are frequent Virgins) because we flew PE, we managed to get our bags first and get to the Virgin/Dollar desk first.

By the way Virgin will only allow 1 person per party into the line with no baggage.

Paul

Another tip:

Although Virgin say only 1 in line with no baggage, all drivers need to be in line as they have to show their drivers license. This can be a bit complicated if you are a party of 2 adults who both drive - what do you do with your bags?

Luckily, DS is 18 and can now be trusted (sort of) to stay in one place and keep an eye on our bags while we queue!

I think  although I could be wrong - if you have booked a flydrive thro Virgin Holidays you will be directed to the Virgin Holidays / Dollar check in on the left. If you have booked a flight thro Virgin Atlantic then tagged on a car with dollar you need to go to the Dollar desk on the right .... but then again

LOL!

I think maybe it doesn't really matter..............as i said before we went straight to the virgin dollar desk but 5 days later i had to go back to the airport to meet DH and we had to have him added to the insurance (long story) there was a queue at the virgin desk so the rep told us to go right over to the normal dollar desk as it didn't matter who we saw anyway.......so there you go!:)
