Does anybody know if Virgin will be offering 10% discount again anytime soon?

I know they have 5% discount if you book online but I'm trying to get as good a deal as I can and would be gutted if I booked it and then saw an offer in a few days.:thumbsup2

Virgin Holidays or Virgin Atlantic? I seem to remember receiving an email (or it may have been a letter) from VH in the not too distant past indicating that they were offering a choice of booking benefits and that the 10% discount had been reinstated as an option. Of course, I could have imagined it. Maybe someone else can clarify.

When they offer the 10% its not always as good as it looks. Last Xmas/New year (07/08) I booked before sale with normal 5% (got 10% with FVC) a few days later they offered 15% but when I checked price they had increased base price so even after the larger discount it would have cost more. They can't do this as routine as its illeagal but thats how it was for that booking.

Don't forget Quidco, they give 4% cashback ontop of any discount. If its a 2 week holiday also check TCD they are now Virgin, some people are finding great prices but for others they are costing more.

Booking through Virgin holidays I think. First time we have used Virgin as we were die hard TCD supporters. We are only booking the flydrive though and TCD use Virgin for that anyway.

Thank for the Quidco advice, that will make it 9% discount which is fab. We are going in August so are paying for peak flights - 1662.00 for 2 adults with car hire and that's with their 5% off ....I'm gonna stop being a miser and go for it.:thumbsup2

If I have the dates right its £1,662.60 but that does not include car insurance, only the 1st weeks free car. Basically you are only getting your flights for £841.30pp. 9 times out of 10 its cheaper to only use the flight and book car seperate but not always.

If the dates are 8th-22nd it would maybe save a few £ doing flight only with VA, £775pp less 2% Quidco (but not on full amount as its only on base price not taxes) would save about £100 on flights but depends on what price the car hire is on the flydrive. If your dates are flexible there are cheaper dates.

Shame you have left it so late there has been great prices for this August indirect, from around £350pp. Virgin are crazy money in August.

I know. Couldn't book earlier as had to wait and see if boyfriend got his requested holidays.

We were going for platinum insurance so we can both drive, that has added another 280.00 on to the price. We are booking Pop century to get the hotel discount and pass deal - 471.00 each.

At the moment with flexi ticket as wellit's coming in at roughly 1584.00 each. Seems so expensive.

Would you reccomend booking car and flight seperately? i have only ever done a full package or flydrive so I am unsure as what to do from here. Don't want to leave it much later as we are stuck to those dates give or take a day

Just had a quick look USrentacar.co.uk have free upgrades offer on for your dates, for £272 you would get free upgrade to Intermediate car, thats 2 sizes larger than Virgins offer. Or stick with smallest car £254.
With Budget/USrentacar you do get 2 drivers included so to upgrade to gold all you gain is tank of fuel, maybe just take the all inclusive option and save a little more 2 weeks from £213 but look at their site at options, there are lots of other companies that might be cheaper but US is competative.

Its simple doing flight only, just means you have to book your own car, its same flight but you have to pay upfront rather than deposit only.

Hi make sure and join the virgin frequent flyers on virgin atlantic web then you can book by phone to get a 10% discount. Also check the price on virgin doing a 2 center hol (put orlando in twice if you only want to go there) and also the flydrive prices as these quite often are cheeper than holiday price

I am fed up as I did not book in time to get the 10% discount and the prices have gone up about £100 each and the flight upgrades for uc have gone up by about £150 each!!!!! arghhhhhh, I am hoping for a miracle and they reduce prices again and I will grab it!!! It has took this long to get hubby to give the green light...:beach:

We have been looking at all the options and decided to try get boyfriends holiday dates moved to end of september. You're right about August Wayneg!

If we move to Sept 26th We can get Virgin flydrive, platinum car ins. and Flexi ticket for 1434.00

Will book Pop through Disney for the free nights and ticket deal for 942.00.

Doing this will save us a tidy packet for spending money. Fingers crossed he will be allowed to move his leave dates.

You are right booking outside the school hols make a massive difference. I think the dates you want will be a week too late for free dining offer unless they make it longer next year, we have booked OKW with 16 nights free dining this August, deal includes about £1,000 of free food for 3 of us.

I never even thought about free dining!!

Managed to get an even better deal if we go on the 29th September - 2300.60 for everything.

Just praying now that he can move his holidays. Will know tomorrow and if it's a yes then it'll be booked by teatime!!

How do I go about getting free dining? I am looking at september do you book it anywhere in particular!!!pirate:

We booked with Disney.co.uk to qualify you have to buy a ticket for each person travelling.

The offer was available to book from August to early Dec 08 for travel Aug-Sept 09.

At the same time they also had an offer of 42% discount off SSR or OKW. We went for 16 nights at OKW & 21 day tickets cost us £2,164 for 2 adults and a teen(15) now the offer has ended it would cost over £4,000 for same package or a similar package booked on Disney.com over £6,000
