Hi, the non-driver here again. We have booked the coach transfer from Orlando airport to CSR with Virgin. Has anyone any experience of this, is it a nightmare trawl around all the hotels on I-drive or just the Disney properties. Don't really want to add an hour to our travelling time. Thanks.:confused3

Hello fellow non-driver!

I'm pretty sure they certain split the load to those going to Disney and those going to I-Drive/offsite. As for what you go in, I think it all depends on how many people are coming of your flight needing transfers and where they need to go.

The first time we went, there were a lot of people, so we were put on a coach and taken to several I-Drive hotels before being dropped off at ours. It was slightly hellish, but not too bad. Was about 1hr 30 before getting to hotel, but we weren't the last people left on the coach.

The second time we went, there was us, and two other small parties. They put us all in a minibus together, and we went to one other hotel (for one party) and then our hotel (us and the 3rd party). That took about 45/60mins

Then last year was the best. It was just us coming off the flight that needed to go to I-Drive, so we had a very posh car (verging on a limo!) that took just us direct to the hotel!! Yay! That only took about 30mins because obviously we weren't waiting for anyone else and had no other stops.

Since we are going to Pop this year, in August, I can't see that happening again! It would be nice, but I don't think so somehow. Hope that helps.

Yep - another one here that doesn't fancy the arguements that would go with the driving:rotfl: We caught the Virgin transport last year to CSR and there was us (3) and another family we were going to POP (2 adults and 2 very small children). We were the first drop off and when we got off the mini-bus it was with a rather smug smile - don't you just love getting dropped off first:rotfl2: Doing it again this year!

Although we have booked through virgin we use the magical express service-it is free and for disney guests- a great way to start the holiday. Some people do say they have had delays recieving there bags but we only waited 2 hours for it to arrive to our room.We have booked again for this year.It is a free service.:grouphug:

The bag issue is the one main reason we won't use Magical Express.

I've heard horror stories about the delays of luggage delivery, from an hour or so to most of the day. That's great if you're arriving first thing in the morning and have all the time in the world - we don't.

We are on the later flight from Gatwick, which means we don't get there till that little bit later. But the time we get to the hotel and check-in we have been up for virtually 24hours with no sleep (i'm usually the only one that can grab a few hours on the plane). Therefore, we literally unpack the moment we get to our room, then fall into bed, so we're ready to go first thing in the morning, and already adjusted to EST!

Any delays in getting our luggage, whether it be an hour or 6 is too long for us. So, we just go via the normal transfers. We've never had a problem with them, and we don't really care how long it takes because it's not like we're going to go to a park after we've checked in, so it's no skin off our noses! :rotfl: But of course, that's just us!

When you are staying onsite you will only drop off at other Disney hotels. We always use the transfers and have usually have only dropped off at a couple of other hotels before us. :goodvibes

Hi, :wave2: Just a thought. We have booked our holiday through Virgin to POP but we are still taking the "Disney Magical Express". You drop your cases off at MCO and they arrive in your room. Best of all its a free Disney service :thumbsup2. I should also mention that they only do Disney Resort Transfers. It could be worth considering.
Regards, Smeeee.

the only problem with using ME is that your luggage is not guaranteed to arrive with you - ideal if you're arriving mid morning and will be going straight to the park before checking into your room but, if like most UK visitors, you've had a really long drive/check in/flight/transfer you'll want to get into your room straight away and start sorting and unpacking.

On our last holiday there was 3 drop offs two on I-Drive and ours was last at the all stars movies resort. I think it depends on whos on your bus, personally i love being the last and having a look around the area.

I agree with what you are saying but I speak as I find .My friend used them at christmas(magical express) and went on the later flight from manchester and she was worried about the delay with baggage so just didn't put the labels on the case, picked her bags up as normal and loaded the magical express. I didn't know you could do this but apparently you can so we are going to do this when we go in July.:dance3:

That's an interesting little tit-bit of information, and definitely something to think about for the future! But I think we're all happy at the moment just to get on a bus and be driven around for a while and watch Orlando go by! :rotfl:

LOL if youre worried about your luggage arriving hours after you if using the ME , take your luggage with you simple!!!
The driver just takes it off you and stoes it on the coach with you.

Well, we'll see how well the Virgin transfer goes this year, and if it's really terrible we'll opt for the ME next time, because somehow, I don't see this being our last onsite trip! :lmao:

We used ME this last trip and have no idea what time our luggage arrived as we went pretty much straight to bed, and it was quietly popped into our room while we were asleep - perfect arrangement!
