I am trying to decided what to do with class options. should I book PE both ways or Economy on the way out and first class on the way home. (don't want to book UC outbound if not coming back that way) There will be 1 adult, 1 teen and a 5 year old.

We are booked Economy on the way there - PE way home.
Mainly because Joshua has a better chance of sleeping on our return.

It is slightly different for us because we get allocated bulkhead seats on our flight to Orlando so we really don't see the need of booking PE both ways.

I guess, to be honest it comes down to cost - if you are prepared to pay both ways?
We paid £295 adult price (x2) and £197.50 for Joshua for this August - which to be honest taking into account the high summer fly-drive prices is not that cheap in my opinion.
There is no way I would consider paying it both ways, unless maybe our flights were very cheap - unfortunatley they are not.

Difficult question and one that only you can really decide, as it very much depends on your personal preferences.

I wouldn't want to be cramped up in economy so for me I would choose PE both ways, but having upper class to look forward to would make a nice end to the holiday and if you feel you can "survive" economy for the outbound flight, then the prospect of returning UC would be much nicer than PE! I've always said that, despite UC being extremely expensive, it offers better value than PE - the service and onboard accommodation is exceptional.

From what we saw of the Virgin layouts I, personally, wouldn't bother paying extra for PE - several of the downstairs seats were right by the toilets and it would have driven me nuts knowing that I'd paid extra to have people lining the walkways, by my seat, to use them....

Guess I'd go for the UC on return if anything so's I could try to minimise the dreaded jet lag.
Have to say though that I'd rather use any extra cash I had available to do something extra special on our trip than on the flights especially given that I seemed to walk the length and breadth of the plane several times, rather than sitting down, when DD was 5 ;)

Well I thought about it and traveling economy with my 5 y/o is my idea of a nightmare so I have booked P.E outbound and UC inbound.. it is a lot of money however we were meant to be going california and can not go now so we changed to booking to wdw!

I agree! Economy is no fun at the best of times, let alone with young children! That sounds like the best option. You'll have a great trip and those wonderful beds to look forward to on the overnight flight home. :goodvibes

your the same as me we upgraded to uc both ways because we are not going on a holiday we should have.

I cant wait though, even though its v expensive I hope it will make a brilliant start and a brilliant end to our holiday next year.

As said above I think it is a very personal decision :)

I didn't find much difference between PE & economy (compared to the total cost of it) but I know if I ever went First Class I would hate to go Economy again. Which is why I am sticking with Economy ;)

It's not that bad :)

I really think it all comes down to how much your flights or fly-drives cost.

We are paying £849 each adult price and I think £499 for Joshua in August, as I said earlier have upgraded to PE on our return flight but would really rather save the money and not do both ways - especially as we get bulkhead seats.

It's like so many issues - no right or wrong way - just personal preference.

I like PE but the last two sets of seats nearest the stairs are not good they do not fold down too much, the seats are comfortable and large, servicei s good, baggage at Orlando comes off first, Gatwick, might arrive some day!!

Get on and off quickly both ends, and have a fast check in queue, papers and good food and drinks service.

If I won the lottery then I would upgrade to UC both ways. Would love to be in thoose nice Upper Class Seats and have a snooze on the way home.

But money dictates that we have to stick to Economy, but whilst saying that am definetly consider PE for both ways.

While economy is cramped ... it's only for 18 hours of your life/holiday and I'd rather put the 2 grand (for 5 of us to move to PE) towards something I really wanted. I can live with being cramped - just!
