Been checking daily for weeks....prices have dropped on the Gatwick- MCO route from today.....was £688 per person now £526 and thats for weekend flights!

Thanks for the post, just checked VA's web site and the economy sale fares are available until 16 July 2013. Below are 'from' prices with mid-week being the cheapest and subject to availability and are offered on a first come, first served basis.

The number of seats available on each flight at the fare detailed above is restricted and it is possible that the seats allocated on a particular flight may be fully booked, even though seats are still available in other booking classes. Some flights may have no availability on certain dates and popular dates (i.e. weekends, school and public holidays) will fill quickly.

awww shucks. I had a look at our dates (MAN 28 Sep - 12 Oct) which are currently 597 indirect. If we left a day early it would be 609 w/virgin but that extra day means more to us than direct flights - but only just! :(

Managed to book M+M PE flights today for over £100 less than what they were this morning when I checked :banana:

The price drop is probably a reaction to the BA Sale that is currently running. BA and Virgin know that they only have each other as competition for direct scheduled flights so they tend to play the game with each other during sale times.

Not sure how long this has been available, but Aer Lingus has up to 20% off fares to the USA.

Available for travel from September to March. Book by 02 July '13.

Here's an example Aer Lingus fare from Manchester to MCO
Sat. Nov 9 returning Sat. 23 Nov
Saving quoted as £35.28
TOTAL return fare £493.94

Whereas Virgin current price for the same dates £565.95

Will also post this as a new thread

I looked at Virgin yesterday for our dates (next Feb) and they were around the £2400 mark (2 adults, 2 kids, 1 infant). Checked edreams and a couple others today and VA was cheaper through them. Checked VA today and their prices now match edreams et al (£2200) so it seems like they're matching both BA and other online sellers.

Going to try and convince DH that we need to book ASAP!

Glad I booked yesterday morning, the price for the flights I booked had jumped back up to the previous days rates by last night! If I'd left it til the evening I would have had to pay £400 more!
