Virgin Atlantic - cheapest day to travel?

A big group of us are going to Disney end of November/beginning of December next year and I was wondering which were the cheapest days to fly with virgin? Also, when will the flights be released? Just trying to organise everyone having the same holidays off work.

It'll depend on a bunch of factors including US holidays (e.g. Thanksgiving) and how many seats have already been sold through Virgin Holidays. But - GENERALLY - it's cheaper to fly out on a Monday or Tuesday and return on a Wednesday or Thursday (in my experience).

Flights are generally released 11 months in advance, so you'll be able to find flights 11 months advance of your return date. Booking early is not always the cheapest option, however...

Our strategy is to amend our vacation based on the flight prices. This year we're doing 12 nights - originally looking for 9 or 10 but it was much cheaper to extend our stay (and the cheapest flight out was on a Saturday :confused3). If you have a "range" of dates, it's easy - for us, we'll take anything between 9 and 14 nights.

Providing there isn't any form of holiday - the cheapest days to fly are Monday through Wednesday.

You will pay a weekend supplement for flights Friday through Sunday, Thursday is a mixed day. Some times you will pay extra sometimes not. So try & don't be disappointed if it's true.

The weekend supplement however is only about £50-£100 through experience. But it's much better to arrive midweek than it is on a weekend.

We found wed to wed the cheapest. So much so that our holiday was £2,000 LESS going for 14 days than to do 10 with the weekend flight supplement. Go figure :confused3

It was definitely cheaper to come back on a Monday with Virgin - we did this in 2009.

Always used to fly on a Thurs to avoid weekend supplements.

We are more limited now as work have limited time off to 2 weeks max.

Thanks for the help. We'll be going after Thanksgiving, right at the end of November. We'll probably all just book 3 weeks off and cancel a few days here and there.

We flew thanksgiving itself in 2009 - great day to fly - airport and roads were so quiet when we arrived.

Didn't do a park til the sunday - did seaworld then which was fine.

If any of you are shoppers being there for the black friday sales which start at midnight on thanksgiving is well worth it.
