Wayneg - I paid my tax via paypal and got an immediate e-mail to confirm, if you havent got one yet I would get in touch with them.

Thank you, have sent them an email asking for confirmation that it has been cleared from my account.

I've paid the balance on my New York trip to the travel agent this week (trip is with VH) and nobody said anything

Do you mean you paid extra? or nobody said anything about paying extra tax? If its with VH then you dont have any extra to pay.

Check your pay pal account it should tell you on line any recent transactions.

Yes no problem there, it says I have paid Virgin Atlantic £60 but how do I know Virgin have credited my account? I could get to check in and them say they never got it. I want confirmation form Virgin.
It is all very amateurish the way they have done this, not like Virgin at all. They accept payments for this tax when its not due, and nothing on your account to say it has been paid.

I would print out the pay pal account just in case you have a problem and take that with you.I have printed the Virgin receipt and the pay pal.

Just recieved a response eventually (took over a week)from Virgin after requesting confirmation the Money I paid via Paypal has been credited on my account.
Like I have said in previous messages its all very amateurish, they don't seem to have a clue who has paid and who hasn't. The site lets you pay when you shouldn't and they don't know if you have

Ours is paid!! Pay pal receipt is printed out, ready to hand in at check out!! Lol!!
At least all VA users will get some benefit from having to pay this ludicrous tax increase!! Are other airlines doing the same??
