Virgin and connecting flights ??

Hi - does anyone know the procedure for connecting flights with Virgin ?

We have booked to travel from Belfast on April 30th and the connecting flight will be with FlyBe.

The problem is that the luggage allowance is vastly different and also FlyBe will now charge for ALL hold luggage -£2 per piece if booked in advance / £4 per piece if not - as from February 2006.

Any advice, or insight into how the Virgin system works, would be much appreciated, in advance of contacting them.

Yep, as Obi suggests this WILL make a massive difference, if its a 'through booking' Flybe will honour your extra baggage allowance in weight but not sure what they'll do on their new pay per piece system, if they only charge the £2 per piece go for it, otherwise you'll have to drastically limit your weight of luggage to coincide with their allowances

Obi Wan - the connecting flight was booked with Virgin at the time that I initially booked the holiday but I am not sure if Virgin will issue 1 ticket or seperate tickets.

I am worried now we have booked similar, flying from Newcastle to Gatwick.

We did have a few concerns, about hold luggage, but were not sure on the procedure.

they shouild give you two boarding passes per passenger at Belfast.
I would go to the web site www.v-flyer.com as I know there is a regular contributor there who flies that route a lot (from Ireland to London and onwards with Virgin) she should be able to put your mind at rest or give better advice

Just check with Virgin if it will be on the same ticket (I would imagine it will be).

As long as it is you will get the Virgin allowance.
