Virgin America Christmas/January 2024/2014

The flights for this time of year on virgin America just opened up recently. I went to the site to check early Jan flight prices from LAX to MCO. Well there are no low rate fares at all until about Jan 8th. I'm wondering if I missed the lower rate coach fares or of they just set their prices high. It's $806 one way to MCO. I just can't believe I missed out on every single lower rare fare at the end of Dec/beginning of Jan. Right?

We were looking at flights from SFO to MIA/MCO on Virgin America for before and after Thanksgiving. As soon as we saw they were available, the price was crazy high. Hundreds of dollars more than other options. We too are hoping they will come down. -- Suzanne

Did they start out high or did I just miss the cheaper option?

Ok I called. The cheaper flights will be out exactly 6 months out. Phew!

I hope so. We are looking to fly LAX - MCO in January, but only refundable $811 fares are available. AA is showing $180. Much rather fly Virgin America as we love the airline. Will just have to wait and see. Interestingly, the fares after mid January drop back down to the 'normal' reasonable fares.

For anyone still interested, it looks like Virgin America have loaded non refundable for dates in December 2013 - January 2014. All dates are there except 2 days - 7 & 8 January, the days I need to book flights!! So frustrating. Getting ready to pull the pin and book with AA - but would much rather travel with Virgin America.

VA has sales often, I've found. I tend to book with someone else and then get an email about a sale 2 days later. I adore VA but DH has airmiles with other airlines, so that gets too tempting.

Those are DLR trips of course. They had a SEA to MCO run, but then they changed the flights so it can't really be done anymore unless you take two days to do it. Sadness.

I would try to be patient.
