Has anyone flown on this airline? We are contemplating flying down to Disneyland instead of driving. I found the best price on this airline, but don't know much about it.

Have you ever flown with this airline? Would you recommend it? Pro's and Cons?

I haven't, but I would do so. They only VERY recently started their Seattle to LA area run, so there probably aren't many who have done it. :) I've seen some fabulous prices on it!

I haven't, but Sir Richard Branson's Virgin Air has been around for years and is popular so I would think that Virgin America will be decent. In fact, I wish it flew from Phoenix so I could try it.

We're going to be flying Virgin Air from SEA to LAX in August, so I'll let you know :thumbsup2 It looks good online, certainly has more amenities than most airlines I have flown to LA!

Let me know when your coming down, I work @ LAX and would say hi. :) if you're not planning on renting a car, you can take the disneyland bus, it's provided by greyline.

I think there's a thread or two about it on here.

My sister and four kids flew VA from Seattle to SFO earlier this year and loved it. Very high tech with individual entertainment systems in the seats etc. The kids were sad the flight wasn't longer so they could "play" more. She said both the ground crew and the flight crew were very nice (nicer than the Alaska or Southwest flights she has been on).

I flew on Virigin America in May from San Francisco to Seattle and LOVED it! Everyone was very nice, we were on time and I loved the entertainment! You can't beat their prices either!

I'm flying Virgin America for my upcoming trip in Sept. and I'm sooo excited! It looks like it has gotten pretty good reviews, and that it will be really cool. :) Plus, its new for Seattle, so that will make us feel even cooler, haha. :3dglasses

I will put in another big "thumbs up" for this airline. We flew LAX-SFO in May, and there were no lines either in SF or LA. The service was fantastic, and it was just kind of weird to be around airline staff who weren't surly. jetBlue has a better selection of video programming and slightly--only slightly--better legroom, but Virgin America is definitely my new favorite airline.

We flew on Virgin America in May from SEA to LAX. The waiting area had fresh flowers and a red carpet. They had just started there flights from Seattle and the plane had maybe 30 people on it (wasn't very crowded). We were able to upgrade to first class section (only 8 seats in it) for $50 (which meant that our seats reclined almost all the way back, the food was free and the movies were free). The flight crew was really friendly and hip (does this term date me?). Our pilot came out of the cockpit before we took off and said "Hi, I'm Captain Dave. We try not to bother you during the flight, so I won't be making announcements. Have a great flight!"

I have never felt so pampered on an airline. It was truly a great part of our trip. I would highly recommend their service!!

I flew from NY to LA back in May and I thought they were great. Even the lighting is different--it has these purple/red flourescent lights along the cabin. The person next to me commented that it was very soothing. We got delayed in NY (#50 for departure!), so they told us we could take out any cell phones or electrical devices we might want to use, since we obviously weren't going anywhere yet.

I also love when the safety video explains how the seat belt works for the ".00001% of you who've never used a seat belt before." :rotfl:

But I'd recommend them. The price was great, and I had no problems with the flight. I'm flying Virgin Atlantic to London in October and I'm looking forward to flying with them again.

:cool1: Hey, I work for VA!! I take reservations. I love the company and the planes are way cool. The fares are great! LAX-JFK for only $149.00 and LAX-SFO starting at $59.00. It's a great way to start a trip to DL!

Let me know if I can answer any questions about VA for you!!

We're flying on Virgin America from SEA-LAX in less than 2 weeks. Can't wait! I've only heard good things about them.
We are flying Jet Blue back from San Diego to Seattle. They're also new, I think, flying out of Seattle.

I will post a TR when we return in early August.

Thank you all for responding. My DH is a tough one to convenice when trying something new (airline wise...he wants his milage from Alaska). But all of your response helped me convince him to give it a try. I'm so excited!!! Only bad thing is we have to wait another week to purchase airfare and I'm sure prices will soar by then :(.

DS & DDIL flew from SF - Seattle for this weekend. He said it was a few extra $$ to fly first class on the way up. He was so excited. They're coming home this evening & will let you know how they liked their return flight, which was Coach.

*edited to add: Turns out, they flew home first class, too. They both loved it.

Wow! Sounds nice!

So do they play this video when you're already on the way (after you've done up your seatbelt), or before you start taxiing when it can be useful to the .00001%? :upsidedow
