Virgin Air Miles

Can you only claim air miles for flights booked directly with VA / VH or can you still claim them if you book seats via another airline eg. Continental who have seats allocated on Virgin planes ?

Economy Class mileage* 100% miles flown
High Yield Economy Class mileage* 150% miles flown
Business Class mileage* 150% miles flown

UK members will earn 200% in Business Class (BusinessFirst) on all UK/US routes.

Full list of partners here, you don't have to be on a Virgin plane to get points.
We flew with BMI last year thru Chicago, booked with Airline network, got Virgin airmiles no problem. Always check if they are a partner

Definitely would recommend spending an hour looking at Virgin partners via Waneg's link above.

It's worth considering the partners if your renting a car or booking a weekend away. You may pay a small amount over the alternatives but when you consider the savings on M+M it can be great value.

If you are booking a CO flight on a codeshare that is on a VS plane you will not earn any tier points or miles I am afraid.

The same applies for BMI codeshares with air canada. - but they dont fly to orlando anyway!

obi print above i correct for CO flights but if you read the T&Cs, codeshares on VS planes are excluded!

I think that the T&C that you have quoted is slightly different from what gavvy is saying...

gavvy is saying that if you book on VS metal, a CO flight number (i.e. a codeshare) will not earn you VS miles.

What you have quoted from the T&Cs, wayneg, is that if you book on CO metal that is operating a VS codeshare (i.e. where it is possible to have a VS flight number), then you will not qualify for VS miles if your ticket has the CO flight number.

Basically both boil down to the same thing: no matter what metal you fly on (either a CO or VS plane), IF a codeshare is operated (i.e. if that flight can have either a VS or a CO flight number), then your ticket must have the VS flight number to qualify for VS miles...

Gavvy is talking about flights on Virgin planes. The T&C you quoted is talking about flights on Continental planes...

I think wayne quotes the opp of what I was trying to say, but both are true, basically you have to have a VS ticket to earn miles on a VS plane!

So if you book through CO you wil not earn tier points or miles, even though your on a VS plane!
