Just got an email to say that Virgin has 10% off starting today at midday - not sure if you can combine that with your frequent flyer discount/5% online discount/Tesco clubcard vouchers - but good luck to those booking today!:goodvibes

dont think they combine the frequent virgin discount as well

I have been emailing virgin and no you don't get your FVC discount as well. Seems like no incentive for FVC to book just now.

Also 10% discount on for this weekend only

I bet we can't use with club card points. Waiting for VH to ring me back concerning my garden view room at the Yacht Club for 2012. When I've checked this morning, a lot of prices have gone down but the Yacht club has gone up 200.00 or thereabouts. I have a price from yesterday on hold thank goodness.

I will ask about the 10% when he rings back.

My suspicions of Virgin Holidays offering false sales has just been confirmed.

At 11:55am I took 2 random prices to compare before and after the sale start time. 1 onsite & 1 offsite

OKW 3 adults 21 nights from 12th July 2012.
11:55 = £8167
12:05 = £7350 = 10% disc

But the other
Fairfield LBV 3 adults 23 nights from 12th July 2012.
11:55 = £4205
12:05 = £4426 less 10% = £3983 Only 5% discount on presale price.

As I have long suspected VH increase some prices to discount.

Wayne - if you are right - and no doubt you are - the is blooming scandalous and downright outrageous.

I know they change the prices due to yields/loads etc but usually thats on a daily basis not an hourly basis.

I first suspected them doing this the last time I booked with them(a few years ago now) I booked just before a sale, a 15% sale started and I was gutted until I checked price, it was more in the sale than I had paid.
Its obvioulsy not all prices as the OKW price shows.
My thoughts are they overcharge at least 10% to allow discounts at any time, either a sale, a price match or a FVC discount, the cheaper end of the market where their profit will be lower they offset some of the discount by increasing the base cost at sale times.

the holiday i was looking at has gone up from this morning as well

Just to add that the holiday that I was looking at has also gone up in price:confused: This time yesterday it was around 150 pounds cheaper! Very strange:confused3

well i am gutted:( booked on monday as i was told that it would be cheaper to book from teh preview brochure and that all teh prices would increase from today. price has gone up by £50 but i have missed out on a free $300 disney gift card :(
