VIP Tours since reopening

Sounds like a fun (exhausting) day! Who was your guide? I'm wondering if by chance it was one of our ABD tour guides in their normal role.

We had Michael. He was wonderful. (Also met Dean later on, and really enjoyed chatting with the both of them.)

I went on a VIP tour on Friday, 9 July. There were roughly 10/11 in our party, and we had the guide from 9am to 5pm.

Did they let you use a single host for 11 people? Reason I ask is that we have a tour reserved for 8/10 and they made us get 2 guides for 11 folks.

I'm counting the guide as the 11th person. There were 10 in our group.

Oh I loved Michael - he was one of our guides on the Southern California ABD. I kept an eye out for him (and your group) but didn't find anyone. Hopefully next time.

7 hour minimum, between $425 and $650 per hour depending on the day/season. At Christmas it will probably be the highest price. The guide will get you express entrance to whatever rides you want to do and arrange for seating for shows or parades.

So is that $3000 for the least expensive tour?

Wow.... so Disney must pay that VIP guide nearly $590 per hour? (and that's if your quote was for 8 hours) Sounds like a nice yearly salary of $1.2 million dollars.

....I know it's actually around $20 an hour or less, but just pointing out how much is pure profit to the park compared to their labor cost for a Cast Member to walk around with you. Yes, 'Supply & Demand', there's plenty of wealthy guests who will pay.

I'm sure it is a pretty sweet gig though. I'm guessing they typically get at least $300/tip daily on top of their wages. That is more money than I earn from my job. And yes, super profitable for the company. I'll never pay for one of these tours, that's for sure.

2. Peter Pan
3. Mr Toads Wild Ride
4. Pinocchio
5. Alice in Wonderland
6. Matterhorn - Tomorrowland side
7. Matterhorn - Fantasyland side
8. Space Mountain - then we went on LUNCH BREAK - We ate at Club 33, and our VIP guide could not join us
9. Soarin' Around the World - middle section
10. Toy Story Mania
11. Incredicoaster
12. Webslingers
13. Little Mermaid
14. Grizzly River Run
15. Jungle Cruise
16. Rise of the Resistance (ride broke down, and so our VIP guide got us in a boarding group should the ride go up again, and it did)
17. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad

The day went by so fast, and we went from attraction to attraction.

The pluses were that VIP tours had just been allowed to get their groups on Webslingers and Rise of the Resistance so we didn't have to worry about joining a virtual queue. We did not get front of the line for either of those attractions - just the ability to to on them. The Jungle Cruise was a plus. Our guide didn't know that there was a soft opening, but when we told him that there was he made sure we got on it.

My bachelorette group had a tour guide on Sunday in WDW. His tip was $700. He was a 40 year CM and had been doing tours since 1992. He and his wife also own a travel company where they make the majority of their money.

So he makes more than most professionals make daily. I suspected as much. Holy smokes!
