10 hr Max in WDW, not sure if that holds for DLR

Hi all!
For those who have gone on the VIP tour - is it worth the money? I'm going to Disneyland for Christmas and I wanted to surprise my mom with a VIP tour.

Totally worth if within budget imho. We did one during Gay Days at DL a couple years ago and it was an amazing day. We rode so many rides. It's why we are doing it again this coming August.

Btw, I did get confirmed that for our trip in August, WS and RoTS does have access with the plaids. No need for a boarding group!

We booked the VIP tour for next summer. I know the guide doesn't dine with us (no problem at all) but if we eat for an hour is that one of our hours that we are paying for?

It does. We usually schedule ours to start right after we eat. So either noon or 1pm so that we can eat some lunch and then tour. We did stop to get a snack during our last tour but otherwise, we didn't eat as we were in go go go go mode.

Thanks for the information! I really appreciate it!

I believe guides are allowed to dine with us again. And they can ride with us again!

Interesting. Memorial Day weekend the rule was they couldn't eat at the same table as us, so they were at the adjoining table.

Interesting indeed, as we also had a VIP tour on May 31st where the guide was not allowed to dine with us. She had to go backstage to eat for both lunch and dinner. Maybe our guides just don't like us and want to spend some time on their own! :P

I called as a surprise for DW for our 32nd anniversary. The cost quoted for November was $4700. There were just two of us and we were not allowed to be part of another group. Sorry, I cannot justify it.

Wow.... so Disney must pay that VIP guide nearly $590 per hour? 😳 (and that's if your quote was for 8 hours) Sounds like a nice yearly salary of $1.2 million dollars.

....I know it's actually around $20 an hour or less, but just pointing out how much is pure profit to the park compared to their labor cost for a Cast Member to walk around with you. Yes, 'Supply & Demand', there's plenty of wealthy guests who will pay.

I went on a VIP tour on Friday, 9 July. There were roughly 10/11 in our party, and we had the guide from 9am to 5pm. We were able to go on the following attractions:
  1. Snow White
  2. Peter Pan
  3. Mr Toads Wild Ride
  4. Pinocchio
  5. Alice in Wonderland
  6. Matterhorn - Tomorrowland side
  7. Matterhorn - Fantasyland side
  8. Space Mountain - then we went on LUNCH BREAK - We ate at Club 33, and our VIP guide could not join us
  9. Soarin' Around the World - middle section
  10. Toy Story Mania
  11. Incredicoaster
  12. Webslingers
  13. Little Mermaid
  14. Grizzly River Run
  15. Jungle Cruise
  16. Rise of the Resistance (ride broke down, and so our VIP guide got us in a boarding group should the ride go up again, and it did)
  17. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
The day went by so fast, and we went from attraction to attraction.

The pluses were that VIP tours had just been allowed to get their groups on Webslingers and Rise of the Resistance so we didn't have to worry about joining a virtual queue. We did not get front of the line for either of those attractions - just the ability to to on them. The Jungle Cruise was a plus. Our guide didn't know that there was a soft opening, but when we told him that there was he made sure we got on it. :)

No that was for 7 hours at $675 per hour on Saturday November 13th. On a 40 hour week, that $1.4MM. I have another vacation in January down there but they don't have the pricing for 2022. In fact they just got the updated pricing for October 2021 last week so that November price may change in another month.

Disney has never, that I know of, combined people to form ”full” VIP tours. You pay the same hourly price regardless of if you are one person with the guide, or 10 people (max) with the guide. There were some non-private tours pre-COVID that were access to certain rides, but not custom like these VIP tours. On those, they blended groups up to the max capacity of the tour, so you paid per person, not per hour.

Sounds like a fun (exhausting) day! Who was your guide? I'm wondering if by chance it was one of our ABD tour guides in their normal role.
