We are planning a December break trip to WDW and are considering a VIP tour. We are focusing mostly on just MK and Epcot. Has anyone done this during the crazy busy time of year and it it worth it? Do you have any suggestions on what day to do it? We will be there from Christmas to New Year's Day. I am thinking the 30th so we can see the special fireworks without waiting for hours. What do you all think about this?

I have done the VIP tour, but not during the holidays. I would DEFINITELY do it. We were here over spring break this year where we saw wait times hit 3 hours just for BTMRR. If you want to see a lot in a short amount of time and get premium viewing for shows or fireworks, VIP is the way to go.

Your tour guide will pick you up at your hotel and drive you to back stage areas to enter the parks, so you will even avoid transportation and park entrance lines. The tour guides are incredibly knowledgeable and will arrange things for you - show seating, etc. - on the fly.

If you want to see the fireworks on the 30th, I would pick that day!

If you can afford it then Christmas day and NYE is the way to go. You get amazing seating for parades and fireworks. The crowds are crazy for these two days and your guide will know the best way to get around.

Remember . . .
. . . the cheaper VIP does not get you front-of-the line

This might be posted elsewhere, but is there a link to the two VIP options? Curious for a future trip.

We did the VIP tour between Christmas and New Years 2 years ago.

My primary request was seating for MSEP and Wishes.

We met our guide near guest services at Epcot around 1pm.

We covered Epcot, Hollywood Studios, and MK. Rode the big rides - Soarin, test track, TOT, Toy Story, Big Thunder, Space Mtn - cant recall the others.

I was lucky enough to get BOG dinner reservations - so we ate dinner there. Then dashed to the seating area for MSEP - after the parade the guide walked us to the seating for the fireworks.

Our guide was Emily Wendt - she was amazing and I recommend her to anyone.

The crowds were crazy and the entire family agreed the VIP guide was a wonderful treat.

My dad had a scooter and van that shuttled us between parks had a lift on the back making it easy to load and unload.

Thank you for the info. How were the seats for wishes?

The viewing for wishes is in front of the Plaza Restaurant. There is a walkway off of Main Street that leads down to an area with tables. I think it is a smoking area during the day.

There was a CM posted at the top of the walkway and he let us in when we approached with our guide.

I have been considering the VIP tour for the holidays, started checking on prices last year. The holiday cost is $355 per hour & reservations for the holidays do not start until September. Last year it was September 17th. We were going with another family & would have been able to split cost, $1420 for 8 hours (6hr minimum up to 10 ppl). Now it would be $2840 without our friends. We could handle $1420, not $2840. Too bad I don't know anyone else going in December.

what dates are you looking at??????

ill be there 2-11.what was your plan???or did you have one??lol

I was wanting 8hr to include multiple parks. MK, EP, AK & HS. Trying to hit parades & fireworks. The VIP viewing areas are spectacular from what I can see. FoF, Wishes, Illuminations, Fantasmic. I would have to coordinate with VIP tours what's doable.

We had initially considered 2 days with just the minimum of 6 hrs each day. In essence we pay 1 day, friends pay the other to get more done.

Rides/shows: ETWB, Dumbo, Barnstormer, PPF, SDMT, BTMR, M&G; Soarin, TT, SE, M&G; FoTLK, EE, KS, Nemo, M&G; ST, TSM, M&G. Christmas things @ MK, HS.

Then see what else would be doable for time. This was just my thoughts. VIP Tours CM stated you give your list of wants, any ADRs, date & then decide together what will work & how much can be accomplished.

I hope this helps!
