We are visiting DL with our 3 year old daughter for the first time in early March and have arranged for a VIP tour guide for our first full day. Just hoping for some insight as to the things we must do with the tour guide vs things we can easily do on our own on another day. We will be there 5 full days and planning a day to go to the zoo so 4 full days at Disney. Any and all opinions welcome! :)

A VIP Premium Tour is incredible! On a busy day in July, we rode around 21 rides, had time for a long lunch and a cocktail break and saw a show all in one day.

These are just my opinions from having taken the tour quite a few times. Other people may have differing insights.

What the VIP Tour is good for:
--E-Ticket attractions like Space Mountain, Indiana Jones, etc. They'll walk you to the front of the line and oftentimes make sure you get the best seats on the ride.
--VIP show and parade seating. The seats aren't the most up close, but you don't have to wait for them.
--If you want to ride something over and over. Maybe you want to ride Radiator Springs Racers 2 x in a row! Or do best 2 out of 3 on Toy Story Midway Mania back-to-back-to-back.
--Your guide is great at keeping you on schedule if you have meal reservations, for example. So don't worry too much about watching the time.

What the VIP Tour is not good for:
--Limited access for a lot of the kiddie attractions and dark rides in Fantasyland, (including Peter Pan) and I think they may not have access for those rides primarily aimed at young children in Bug's Land.
--they can't do things like take you to Walt's apartment or the Dream Suite.

Look up in advance what rides they can and can't grant you access to. It's probably best to save those rides they don't have VIP access for one of your other days (these include Mark Twain and the Tiki Room, just off the top of my head).

Enjoy your day!

So glad I stumbled onto this thread! :thumbsup2 I had no idea that the VIP tours included rides! I thought it was more of a tour of the park with inside secrets...:confused3
We too will be in DLR the first of March... may have to see if we can book it.

FYI, there is a big difference between "Guided" Tours which you may be thinking about and VIP tours

With VIP tours you can also book in your night shows, such as seating for fireworks/Fantasmic!/WOC. If it is just you and yor partner and the 3yo, if the 3yo is not 40" (ie can't ride the big rides), you will still have to rider swap as the guides can't watch an under 7yo child for you.

As far as Fantasyland, the rides have recently changed as to which they have access to. They still have Dumbo, but you should contact tour services to find out which rides they can access for you.

One that my granddaughter liked was Disney Jr Playhouse.

Have just stumbled upon my own thread!!! Seems so long ago! But was wonderful :)
I've answered some of your questions on the GCH Superthread where you mention a VIP tour, so I initially thought this was a new thread.
