VIP tickets (or REM dreaming)?

...so I've heard that for DLR concierge guests who have "premium" rooms (I'll leave it at that), there is a special "VIP" kind of ticket they can use for all of the rides. I've heard this ticket would let them (and all of their guests staying with them) just skip ahead to the front of the line for any ride in DL or in GCA with minimum or no waiting at all to ride. All day long, too.

Okay-- so is this true? Somewhat true? A wonderful dream someone had and then tried to convince themself (and the rest of us) is reality?

If it is true,

--do such "VIP" ticket-holders use the FP line or the "standby" (reg.) one on those rides?

--will these ticket-holders likely get killed and/ or jumped by everyone else waiting in line, or are CM "bodyguards" available (ha ha)?

Thanks for any help/ experiences! This still sounds too good to be true!

Not at all true. The closest any would get to that kind of perk would be AAA members who booked through AAA to get enhanced FP, and that's still very different from what you're describing.

Disney reserves that type of VIP treatment for celebrities, its not for us regular folks.

Not exactly true. The VIP service is available to anyone willing to pay the hourly fee (something like $750 with a minimum of 4 hrs). While most people who use this service are celebrities anyone can request it (most of us just can't afford it).

Its actually $75 per hour for VIP tour services. But, that is not really for front of the line type passes. That is to have a private tour guide to take you around the park and show you various things.

My husband was lucky enough to get some VIP treatment during his visit in May. He received some front of the line passes (work like fast pass), as well as a tour of the VIP lounge where they rode segways.

Most celebs dont pay for the treatment they get. They are given special treatment to keep things moving in the park. If they just allowed the big names to walk around, it would turn in to a mob sceen- which wouldnt be good for anyone.

There is a section on the Disney website (can't remember where) that explains the differnt tours you can do. One of them is a VIP tour that gives you an escourt and lets you jump the line. Like I said in a pp this costs around $750 per hour with a minimum of 4 hours. This is the tour that most celebrities use and yes they do pay for it. Disney rarley lets the celebrities do this for free (some exceptions are Lindsey Lohans B-day disaster). Earlier this year there was a thread about this and it had the link to disney's page that explains this.

A lot of celebrities choose not to use this service and are seen at the parks standing in line with the rest of us.

Sorry, but Linda is correct on this one. The VIP tour is $75 per hour, with a 4 hour minimum. Here's the link http://disneyland.disney.go.com/disneyland/en_US/parks/tours/detail?name=VIPTourServicesTourPage

OOOOKKKKKK, I booked with AAA so that will be all the perks that I get. :lmao:

Okay, so is it just one escort and line-jumping ticket per room booked VIP, or is it as many escorts and (esp.) line-jumping tix per travleing group (of adults) in the room?

Thanks again for any insight (heck, I'll even be happy to hear rumors at this point).

As I already stated, and per the link someone else posted it DOES NOT include line passes. Here is a cut and paste of the Disney info so you dont have to follow the link- You truely need to be VIP or know someone for front of the line passes. It is not currently something that can be bought.

Thanks for this info.

So... next question: how would somebody become (or already have become) a VIP for these front-of-the-line-passes, then?

If a VIP was theoretically touring the park w/ other adults who needed to travel separately, would these guests (or the "we know somebodies") also receive the same special kind of line-jumper tickets?

Are these line-jumper priveleges only good for 4-hour increments, then?

Sorry for my pursuit of these answers/ specifics, but I'm trying to dispel a few things I've heard about tickets like these. Does the old saying apply here, then, that "If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is?"

Thanks again for any help/ clarifications with this.

Its really who you are or who you know. Its not something that they just offer to anybody. Dh received VIP treatment because he knows someone that gets VIP treatment. His company (dh and the person he knows are both employed there) have some things in Innoventions and have considered being the sponsor on Soarin'. Dh's coworker has had a lot of contact with top people at Disney. He has done things like spend the night in haunted mansion. That is not something the average guest can do! So, when dh went in May his friend was able to get him comp. tickets to the park, a few front of the line vouchers, and the trip to the VIP lounge. They were told when they went to the lounge that they would have to leave if a true VIP wanted to use the lounge. There was no time limit on the line passes he was given, but they were surrendered after one use, just like a fast pass. And he didnt go "to the front", he went thru the fast pass line. His friend was also able to get him reservations for club 33. But, his friends girlfriend didnt want to go there for mothers day so they canceled them. Dh was so disappointed. But his friend can more then likely get us reservations for our next trip.

Thanks for the info. about this. So, for rides w/o FP lines, did the CMs (or he himself) just usher him up through the standby line? Any problems from other guests who watched him do this? Did he have to use the regular lines/ processes (like FP ones) if he wanted to go on a ride again after he used his one line-hopper pass for it?

Thanks again. The mystery's getting clearer...

He was there in mid May. There were not long lines thru most of the park. He used the line passes on a few lines, but not everything. He was actually in the area on business and about 4-5 days in the park, so it wasnt like he had to rush and ride everything in one day. I'm sure its different if you really are someone, and not just with someone that knows someone. KWIM?

You might want to read hydro's guide to fast pass or consider using ridemax if you are concerned with getting the most rides in one day.

SHUX!! :rotfl2: We're confirmed in one of those "premium" rooms at the Disneyland Hotel spoken about with some disdain (Penthouse suite in the Sierra Tower)....

Of course; I still think I'd stand in line. Part of the whole park experience is waiting in those lines. Even though getting to walk right in would be nice, I think that it would take away from the experience. Besides; I do not want my nephew to get ideas of entitlement in his head due only to a financial difference.

Michael..
Next trip; Oct 29 - Nov 4
Halloween and Birthday trip for nephew (4)
