I posted our this prize on another thread, but thought I'd also post it separately...
We had been at AK since early entry park opening and typically we don't stay at the parks past noon and eat lunch there, but it was our last day and we had to use up our quick service meals on the DDP. Before we ate lunch, my 4yr old DD wanted to ride Dinosaur. I agreed but didn't want to wait 20 minutes so we got 5 fast passes. After lunch at Pizzafari, most of us wanted to head back to BWV and then head to MGM, but DD was crying that she wanted to ride Dinosaur. So we headed back to Dinoland and got in line. My 9 yr old DD almost backed out of the ride but decided to ride it so my almost 13 yr old DS had to sit in the second row in the first seat. If she hadn't decided to ride it, he would have been in the front row with the rest of us. As we were getting off, my son was approached by some ladies and they asked if his mom and dad were there. As soon as I heard that, I knew we won something! They whisked us away and announced that he won a VIP Safari for 6 and that we were the first ones ever to win this prize. We then went to find my DH and DD2 to let them know. After filling out all the paperworks and getting our picture taken our adventure began. The prize included VIP viewing of the parade, VIP safari on a private vehicle (one that celebrities go on) with an animal specialist, and dinner at Tusker House. Since we had extra time before the safari, a very knowledgable CM (Beth) took our family to the front of whatever attraction we wanted to go on, had them announce that a special family was on the ride, took us behind the scenes of Dinosaur, and gave us great information on everything we wanted to know about AK and WDW. Some extras we received were autograph books and pens for all 5 of my kids, a disposable camera for my DS, a pressed penny book for my DD, and a container of small dinosaur figures for my two youngest. We were also given popcorn and pop during the parade. While every part of it was wonderful, we all agreed that having Beth take us around the park was one of the best parts. All the CMs we encountered were awesome and gave us such special treatment. My kids particularly liked Prince working over by the Harambe Fruit Market. He was teaching my kids how in some parts of Africa, they make clicking sounds when they talk. Very funny watching my kids try to talk that way. My DS is kind of in that phase where he seems bored all the time and I'm not sure if he's having fun. Well, he could not stop smiling the whole afternoon and kept saying "this is the best day ever". The VIP viewing of the parade was great especially for the kids. Every character came by and hugged them or high fived them. We had never eaten at Tusker House and thought the food was wonderful. That day was definitely the highlight of our trip and a great way to end our vacation! I guess we were lucky this trip because we also won Dream Ears on our first day.
