Checking into contemporary today or as we like to call it our second home. Got the text at 10:30, our estimate arrival time that room wasn’t ready. No big deal wanted to check out Epcot holiday showcase. At 3 still hadn’t received text so checked at desk and she said our room wasn’t ready yet because of our VIP level It didn’t really click what she said till we walked away. What is VIP level? And how did I get it?

Anyone experience this before? Didn’t see anything pop up when searching here or on Google.

Could she have meant VIP cleaning? Did you request a special allergy cleaning?

Did you book Concierge? If so, it might very well be they were pending cleaning and didn't have extra units to rearrange you into.

If you didn't book concierge/club level it could be you have been magically upgraded. Let us know!

I guess it meant cleaning. Still not sure. No allergies that would need a cleaning. Room still wasn’t ready at 6. Went back to desk and finally got into a room. It looked clean...

When we went to the front desk the cast member disappeared after a phone call. Came back with a manager that thanked me for being valued guest or something like that. It was weird. Maybe they thought I was going to flip out. I’m not the type though and was WAY too tired from traveling to care. I just wanted to get into a room with a shower.

So who knows.

Still had a great day with all the holiday and birthday activities today. Just wished I could have gotten a shower and quick nap before dinner and nighttime activities. Need super large coffee now.

Mind if I ask what floor your room is on?

Just sort of curious given the circumstances you describe.

But glad you have your room. Enjoy your trip.

Happened to me too in July. I go to disney OFTEN and have far more stays at Poly and GF yet CR said I was VIP. I also received that welcome plate. I had to wait for a manager to inspect the room on our transfer day.

I even got a second "welcome plate" for the transfer room.:goodvibes

Ive been to CR about 7 times and BLT 4.

I was at GF 3 times just this year. I do not get any special treatment there.:confused3

It was nice to be a VIP but waiting for a room inspection kind of takes away from the joy lol.

Anybody else get this at any other resort?

I wonder if Disney has a guest rating system that shows your value to the company. While there is no formal rewards/loyalty program (such as what airlines and many hotels do), I'm sure they have some method of keeping track!

I would imagine so, given that many companies have internal scoring for their guests/customers.

It is just their return guest gift.
Most resorts have one.
I know we have gotten one at BWI, POFQ, and CR (same exact plate as the one above)
The card also mentioned something about welcome back, or glad to see you return, or something along those lines.
Resorts I haven't gotten any acknowledgment as a returning guest
AKL, WL, CBR, POR, YC

I have read that Disney has a fairly sophisticated system of projecting what businesses call customer lifetime value. I believe they have invested a lot of $$ over many years developing their approach.
