I would like to request a VIP Cleaning of our room at Coronado Springs in August. I have completed my online check in.

What is the procedure to arrange this and what is the cost?

Also, after the cleaning is complete, I would like to limit access to our room for the duration of our stay. Would this cause a problem with Mousekeeping? I would prefer to clean it myself but I just don't know how to go about getting towels, toiletries replaced etc.

Any help would be appreciated!

I'm not sure about VIP cleaning but for towels and toiletries you can just stop the mousekeeper in your area and request more or when you get back to your room put a call into housekeeping to have some brought to you.

Depending on how long you are there just let them know why you want to keep as few people in the room as possible. Traditionally hotels do like to check in on rooms at least every few days to make sure the renter isn't tearing it up or doing anything illegal.

I don't see why it would cause a problem to just have towel service and toiletries. There are also a few articles about VIP cleaning on the disney parks moms panel site. Just search VIP cleaning The only thing I have heard about it personally (VIP) is to call and give guest services as much notice as you can ahead of time.

Just call the regular resort reservation line and tell them you want the VIP cleaning. They'll note it on your reservation. When you get to the room, call Housekeeping and tell them what you want- no daily cleaning, fresh towels and toiletries only. If you don't want them resupplying your room when you're out, leave the Do Not Disturb sign on your door.

It's more to lessen the burden on the staff when you check out. when the guest refuses entry by housekeeping the entire time they can end up with a severely trashed room that takes 3 and 4 times as long to clean, putting them behind. and quite frankly, when I was a HK in the olden days those rooms that were DND the entire time tended to be absolute pig styes upon check out/ Huge piles of dirty linens that had begun to mold/mildew., overflowing trash cans full of rotten food. My hotel REQUIRED us to go in every 3 days, no matter what. even if all we did was gather up the dirty towels and empty the trash.

I assure you I have no intentions of leaving a 'severely trashed room' for housekeeping... there will be no burden on the staff. My room will be just as clean as when I checked in... with the exception of the linens on the bed. I want the VIP cleaning for a reason and letting the room become a pigsty would kinda defeat the purpose :)

I will definitely call the reservation line and then housekeeping upon our arrival to co-ordinate our efforts. I will let them peek in to make sure I'm doing a good job Lol

Thanks everyone!

Just an FYI that a VIP cleaning can put you in your room later and honestly-may not be the cleaning you were expecting. We did it for allergy/asthma reasons. We found other peoples clothing and toys in our room :(

Yikes Mum23! That would be bad for a regular cleaning! You must have been disappointed! We won't be arriving until 6pm so that should not be an issue. I am going to bring my own stuff to clean the room as well so I will just hope for the best and if it is a terrible job ... more work for me I guess.

Cleaning in Disney must be better than cleaning at home... at least the room is smaller than my house! Haha

We were not pleased. They offered us to move but by the time the kids found the stuff I had already re-cleaned the kitchen and bathrooms. I get the cleaning the clean room ;)

I have read the suggestion to be specific in what you expect of the VIP cleaning. One person's idea of VIP cleaning may not be exactly the same as another person's. Do you want vents cleaned, filters changed, etc.?

Enjoy your vacation!

You would still want them to empty your trash and take away the dirty towels, wouldn't you? Also, depending on the length of your stay, clean sheets, and vacuuming the carpet would be in order to keep the standard of the room at an appropriate level.

I will probably bundle up my own trash and towels and deliver to mousekeeping....if possible then collect fresh towels and required toiletries. A hallway exchange if I can manage it. I will feel better if I clean the room myself and I will tip them for the privilege Lol

With regards to the vacuuming and sheets... I want to limit access. That stuff doesn't need to be done daily. I am hoping just once. The room just doesn't get that dirty. We don't spend a lot of time there....that being said, I may have to bring my daughter back to the room this time for an afternoon break, which we are not used to doing, because now she tires easily. Guess we'll see how it works out when we get there.

You might want to double check the hotel's policy on guests using their own cleaning supplies, especially chemicals. Something like multi-purpose wipes that are designed for various surfaces is one thing. But other cleaners not provided by the hotel could be an issue.

as someone with a severely compromised immune system, my thinking is if you are this concerned, perhaps going to a place there you will be exposed to far far far MORE pathogens outside of the hotel room is not the best idea.

Not sure how they will react, but if I were a hotel manager, no way would I permit a guest, any guest, to keep my housekeeping staff out of the room for more than two or three days.

I have no idea what I'm doing to be honest... just trying to be proactive. We are approaching this trip in a totally different way and making lots of changes. VIP cleaning sounded like a good idea.

I realize there are way more germs in the parks. Believe me I have considered cancelling. I just thought the room could be a place to let our guard down a little. Other people have travelled with a compromised immune system and with proper precautions... they do ok. People on these boards... that's what I'm hoping for us. I'm back and forth. She's really good at hand washing and keeping her hands off her face....now.

I guess that I don't appreciate things from a hotel perspective because I have good intentions. I'm the type that tidies up for housekeeping :) I will talk it over with the hotel and see how they react and go from there... every 3 days would be better than daily at least.

I'd suggest just requesting proactively and expecting that they may agree not to clean, but probably will come in at least every other day. I just stayed at a hotel for a conference and they did come in every other day for trash and towel exchange, even though I put the card they provided on the door if to decline cleaning.
From their standpoint, they don't know how clean you will keep the room and they want to proactively pick up trash and soiled towels/linens to prevent problems with pests. Even though your intentions are good, there are people who do things like rent a room for 2 and then have 8 people staying or sneak a pet in. Both of those are frequent reasons why people don't want Housekeepng in the room and the hotel staff want to get in every few days.

If you plan on going again in the future, you might want to look into renting Disney Vacation Club points. DVC members staying on points don't get daily cleaning. We get 'Trash and Tidy' on day 4 and full clean on day 8 for longer stays and Trash and Tidy on day 4 only on shorter stays.

Definitely will look into DVC rental for our next trip. Sounds right up my alley!

1) There is no additional cost for VIP Cleaning.
2) However, there are THREE LEVELS of VIP Cleaning.
. . . there are two main levels, but also a third level which we normally do not discuss publically
. . . each level has its own instructions, requirements, specifications and (sometimes) special supplies
3) The level of cleaning you get
. . . depends upon WHY you are requesting the VIP cleaning level as to which level you get.
. . . depends upon WHO you are as to which level you get
4) You need to have VIP Cleaning noted on your reservation, as it has to be scheduled ahead of time by Housekeeping.
. . . it takes extra time and effort for the cleaning
. . . based upon the level, it could take 1-6 hours for the cleaning
. . . it usually cannot be done at check-in without advance notice, especially for an afternoon check-in time
. . . the supervisor needs to make certain there are personnel to do this
. . . the supervisor must also make certain the supplies are available
5) For towel-only service, just have the Font Desk note it when you check-in.

I will make sure I call and give them all our details beforehand! Thanks for all the info!
