I see some of you just had the violinist play for the ceremony. What did you think of that? SIL is thinking it won't be enough and was contemplating having more musicians.
i chose a violinist for sbp because it's an outdoor ceremony. i think that one instrument is ok for the outdoors, for inside, like a ballroom, where there isn't much to look at, you need more distraction, but at a place like sbp where you can see so much (swan/dolphin, all the bw attractions, yacht/beach...) there is so much to pay attention to that you won't need anything else to occupy attention...does this make sense? i'm rambling...
With the Escape (intimate) wedding package, the violinist is included so that may be a factor why many brides only have that musician.
To be honest, I was a bit worried it wouldn't be enough or that the songs I had chosen wouldn't sound "right" on the violin. But let me assure you it was beautiful! Much more than I could have expected and even hearing recordings of it (on videos and such) does not do it justice.
We had the violinist play a mix of Disney music for our entire ceremony and all of the songs sounded so ethereal and beautiful.
We only had the violinist play for our wedding too, and initially I too thought it wouldn't be enough.
It was beautiful to hear a solo violin, but to be completely honest, I found I didn't pay that much attention. There were so many things happening that day that I didn't really 'hear' the viloin. I know it was playing but my mind was on other things. The parts I did hear were beautiful, esp when we danced.
I think having more musicians play might be OTT for an outdoor wedding.
It was very simple but elegant, which in my opinion is perfect!
