Violin Soloists

I don't think I have ever heard anyone comment on the violin soloists that they have had for their ceremonies. How are they? Were you happy with yours and what did they play for you?

In all the time I've been on this board, I've never seen anyone complain about the violinists. Usually people rave about how they know every song requested and keep guests entertained during the cake cutting.

It will be fun to hear some firsthand experiences though!

Thank you for posting this...I just added the solo violinist to my budget because...well I need to walk down the aisle to something. I'm wondering if the music is loud/"full" enough with only one person playing? I'm assuming they're only playing the melody of whatever songs you ask them to play?

The violinist we had was great; he was cheerful, friendly and most importantly played our songs note perfect. I still get a tear in my eye when I recall the music. I'm such a soft thing at times!

I actually wish I'd got his name to send thanks. I'm sure the musicians, particularly the violinist for Escape weddings are unsung hero's most of the time.

I'm finding it difficult to comment on the volume as we had a bride and groom only wedding. Thus there wasn't anyone at the back to say that they couldn't hear. To me it sounded perfect, loud enough to be heard but quiet enough to be romantic and gentle. HTH.

AWESOME ! They are truely outstanding musicians.

My MOH is in the St Louis Symphony Orchestra and everything she requested he also hit spot on. He took requests during our cake reception/photo time and didn't miss a one.

Very beautiful and volume was great.

You have nothing to worry about.

Like others have said, it was an amazing experience to have a violinist play for the wedding. We had an Escape Wedding at the Wedding Pavilion which includes the Organist and Violinist playing together. They played every song perfectly, even "He's a Pirate". I have a few pictures if you would like to see how it would look.

This is in the wedding Pavilion right before the ceremony. I asked them to play a medley of Disney Love Songs

He also came over with us to the Commander's Terrace at the GF and played for our guests before we arrived

He also played Kiss the Girl for our first dance

I was just coming here to start the same thread! I did some googling and gound that a violinist and guitarist together sound great but I couldn't find any samples with just a violinist.

That guy in the photos above was amazing at the wedding. AMAZING.

Our guests were outstanded by him, and our flowergirl was mesmerized by him.

I cant remember his name though, is it Rob? I remember him briefly coming over to us to say hello (I requested we wanted to thank him before he dissapeared!)

I am sure he stayed longer than he was supposed to, and our guests gave him so many requests to try out and they said every single song was perfect and couldnt believe how he was like and encyclopaedia of music!

If you can, request HIM!

Our Violinist was a female and she was amazing! I do not have any photos to post, but she looks like Betty Paige and was not only talented but very nice. The acoustics in Canada were perfect for the single violin-all the songs were heard very clear. She knew everything from classic Disney to modern classical. My mom should know her name, so if I can find out in a reasonable about of time I will post it.
Our main songs were:

Four Seasons-Spring
When you wish upon a Star
Darth Vader-Imperial Death March (Husband & Wife announcement)
Zippity Doo Dah

Cake Cutting, etc.. variety of requested music.
