I was wondering if anyone has had a vintage car for their wedding and if so do they take you from the ceremony to the reception or is it just for pics? We are getting married at the Wedding Pavilion and having our reception at the Whitehall Room & Patio. I'm just trying to figure out transportation for everyone. Thanks for the feedback.

we had a limo. i know several people have had them since i've been on these boards, i know this thread pops up every so often!

i think the vintage cars really are going to function like the limo. you can rent it for some minimum amount, then you can do whatever you want - our limo picked up the groomsmen and my MIL off property, brought them to the GF for pictures, took the guys to the WP, picked up us girls and took us over and ferried any random guests who were about then took us back to the WHR for the reception. unless you get some whacky car (or the carraige really!) it is transportation, not a photo op.

that said, i liked some of the 50's cars etc, but i people pointed out how small they are inside and it isn't practical for moving your wedding party about if that is part of your need? so our 1984 vision of a white stretch limo worked out just fine!! :rotfl:

also, we took some cute picture on and around that old model T or whatever the heck that car is outfront the GF lobby so if you are needing some old timey car pictures, there you go!

I was told the Rolls Royce would pick us up at the Grand Floridian, take us to the Wedding Pavilion, and then back. I thought we would have it longer, and for this reason I am going to cut it out of my BEO ($900) and try to find one elsewhere.

Call VIP Transportation Group! They're one of the companies Disney uses, and they're literally half the price! We were going to use them for our Rolls (I believe it books in 3-hour increments, but I'm not 100% sure), but changed over to their Hummer limo to accommodate more of our guests. :thumbsup2

We had a Rolls Royce. We were picked up at POFQ and had pictures there, next stop the Boardwalk for pictures and our wedding at SBP, more pictures there after the wedding with the last stop being the Contemporary for our reception.

Since we were getting married at SBP and wanted the Rolls Royce to drive on the Boardwalk we needed to go through Disney.

We also had a limo to transport guests to the wedding and reception, vans from the reception to the hotel and a town car for the dessert party.

My husband was thrilled with the Rolls Royce. I admit that it was bit pricey but he still talks about it.

Amy sweetie - would you be good enough to PM me the price you were expecting to pay for your Rolls Royce. I still haven't quite given up on getting one for DH as a surprise, but it will likely be too expensive!!!
Thanks so much!!

Thank you all for the feedback. It's always been my dream. When you say it takes you back to GF what do you mean.? We won't be staying there . I was just more curious if it would take me to the whitehall being that its on property and not that far. I would arrange for different transportation after the reception.

We have the Model A Ford. It was $600 on the BEO. It will take me from the GF to the WP, and then take me and DF to the ballrooms after the ceremony.

GF = grand Floridian. The Whitehall room/patio is at the grand Floridian! We were picked up at tge lobby, dropped off at the convention center! Really they can take you anywhere provided you've booked tge appropriate consecutive time frames! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the feedback. Sorry for the multiple posts I'm on my phone and I think it went a lil haywire

I'm not staying at GF either, she just said that's where it would pick us up. I'll have to email and ask more about it.

We had the 1948 Cadillac limo- it took three trips between the gf and wp, did our staged exit, and then drove us to the Living Seas. I wanted the pink rolls Royce but it wasn't available.

We had the Model A Ford (I got my mum to help me arrange it as a surprise for DH). It picked me up at POFQ and drove me and my dad to the Boardwalk. It was great being able to go along the Boardwalk in it too! Then after the ceremony it drove us around the Boardwalk area where we stopped at a few locations to take photos, then on to the Contemporary Resort.

If you want to see it, there are loads of photos in my PJ/TR :goodvibes

Wow you weren't kidding about the differece in price! I just received a quote from them and am very happy. Do you know if Disney allows them on property? Transportation isn't something that can only be done by Disney right?

Absolutely. They can go almost everywhere on property. The only place they can't go is "backstage" at one of the parks or out to SeaBreeze Point. I'm sure the SBP limitation is because it's a liability issue with the car driving along a walkway that guests use.

Thanks Amy! I just got really excited. I get to have a car I want and save money. Always a good thing. :goodvibes
