Vint Monorail 6 game card set = ??

I found this interesting set of cards, I believe they're older and was wondering if anyone had more info on them. It's a 6 pack card game and they fit in a holder shaped like the disney monorail. I have a picture but the site won't let me upload it......sigh......

It was produced by Russell Mfg from Leicester, Mass. Russell was licensed between 1945 and 1955, and then again from 1968 through 1984. During the first license period, Russell produced the card games and packaged them in a library tray.

The monorail set was produced during the second license contract and used the same card games, just in a spiffy new package. I don't know if the new package was sold everywhere or just at Disneyland.

This example is still in the cellophane and has this gift sticker.

I have no idea what years the Monorail card set was sold, but I'd suspect the reason Russell renewed their license was to get rid of an old inventory of card games, so I'd guess early in the license period, right around 1968 or 69. The style of the artwork suggests this time period, and probably through the early 70's at least.

You nailed it Lizard, that's the exact set and thanks for the fun info. I thought it might be 60's - ish. I've actually seen the boxed cards before somewhere (game and card nut here, also a 70's girl) but I've never seen the monorail set or anything like it that I can recall. Cool find!

ps I did find a uk version of the set on ebay - either ebay.us or ebay.uk and it was a different package, a bit later in age but essentially the same cards packaged in the monorail form. Couldn't find anything similar to this set though.
