Villians Sinister Soirée

Since there seems to be plenty of room in the reserved viewing area: does anyone think it will be frowned upon if I set up a tripod for my camera for Hallowishes and the parade?

Couple questions I just thought of:

1. Can you get 2nds on any desserts you like?

2. Will they serve any alternate soft drinks if you don't like the punch they have?

I'm wondering, are there many people out there trying to get a new reservation or change their seating time? I am making a suggestion/request that if anyone is canceling or changing their reservation they post here or in a new thread that someone could set up for cancelations. Anyone interested or think this would be a good idea? I know for myself I would like to change my time from early to late seating but late is full, I keep calling back but it would nice to know if someone posted: "hey, I'm canceling my 11:45 soirée for 10/28 today at 3pm" and I could call after that. Any thoughts or am I the only one?

No one really cared since there was a ton of space. I did see one tripod set up.

Didn't ask for more desserts but they did let you box up what you had left.

They have water at the table also. I didn't see anyone with soda.

We were there last night at the early seating (had originally scheduled the later one but was worried that the kids wouldn't make it). It was awesome!!!!! Just a couple of quick things because we are heading out the door to AK, but I will post more later:

Parade viewing was amazing. We all had tons of room to spread out. I think everyone who wanted to had a spot by the rope...there was that much room. My daughter had at least 15 characters come right over to her and interact with her during the parade. She was loving it!

They were giving away free bottled waters and suckers throughout. There were about 3 PhotoPass photographers in the area, but they disappeared for a while when it started drizzling. We did eventually get our shot though. My daughter was asked to pretend like she was holding something from between her fingers. Maybe a spider? I will update this once I get a chance to view it.

After the parade a few people left the area so there was even more room. We moved back a bit and found a spot along the rear of the rope right in front of Walt's statue. We had a stroller with us. We spread out and sat in the ground. There was NO ONE in front of us. We had maybe three groups of people off to the sides of us (some others were along the sides of the rope towards the front). It.Was.Awesome.!!! We watched the projection show (which gets me every time, and it was the most amazing view).

Then we stayed put for the fireworks. I'm so glad we did. Again, we were literally spread out like we were having a picnic. My husband laid down at one point. The people outside of the ropes were crammed in like sardines all around. Having that much room to ourselves was priceless IMO. And the view...I know that people have said that it is obstructed (and maybe it is a little bit), but we thought it was great!!!!! Some fireworks were behind the castle, but even those it was just the middle that was blocked...they burst around the sides if the castle, and it looked beautiful. There were lots of fireworks that were all the way above the castle too. And the 360 degree ones of course were so cool. We loved watching the projections on the castle and the color changes as the fireworks went off. Honesty...it was an amazing spot. I think the naysayers might be being a tad overly picky on this issue. The view (which was very good albeit not 100% perfect) coupled with the ability to spread WAY out was priceless to us. :)

Afterwards the CMs escorted us to the castle. It was a little chaotic (we had to wait for the crowd to disperse before they moved us, but they didn't really do a good job of explaining what was going on so a lot of people were confused). We made it though. They walked around and checked everyone in outside at the same time (I'm not sure if this is because we were running a little late because the parade was delayed a bit because of the drizzle?) and then let us all in to mingle downstairs. The stepsisters came around and joked with everyone for awhile. They did a good job of moving around the crowd, and they were hilarious. Then they ushered everyone upstairs.

And then...to be continued...I really need to head out the door now. ;)

How much time did you have to do rides and other things besides the soiree?

I'm following this closely, as we are going to a MVMCP - just in case there's a similar event there. At the MVMCP, we aren't interested in meeting any of the special characters. Mostly just rides, Woody's dance party, the parade/fireworks, and enjoying the atmosphere. Thanks!!

I think there is definitely enough space for your tripod.

They will give you more bread/crackers for the cheese if you ask but idk about the desserts. My guess is no since they were plated up special with all 4 but the server kept asking if we needed anything and so maybe she would have given us more if we had asked. She was very helpful.

Mommy2corinne..... I'm glad you had a great time. But honestly I look at that viewing area and I'm just sad that so many other people who paid for party attendance that night were blocked out of underutilized prime viewing real estate. :(

I couldn't agree with you more. :(

We did a couple of rides in Tomorrowland before heading to the viewing area. Afterwards we did several rides in Fantasyland and then HM twice before heading out at midnight. We didn't do any trick or treating or characters meet and greets. However we went to another MNSSHP a few days later where we focused on that stuff, so we didn't feel pressured to do so on our Soirée night.

Thanks!!! What time were you done with the soirée?

Can one of you please post the link to the "magic shots" the photo pass people can take? Thank you!

Also, I just noticed that they added some extra professional photos to my account today: Hook, Lady Tremaine, Frollo, Cruella, Dr. Facilier, two of Maleficent, and a few shots of the castle and fireworks. So cool!

Well that's just adorable. Whoever made that outfit (you??), did an outstanding job (and it doesn't hurt that she's a cutie pie)!! The magic shot is super. Wish we could've (from both a time and $$ aspect) done two parties too; I just don't want to miss the party to do the Soirée, but I'd love to do both if it sticks around. Thanks for sharing!!

did you have Memory Maker? I plan on getting the disk instead but can not add it until I return from my trip. Did you show some one your photo pass card? I might have to get Memory Maker instead.

They added the stock villain photos to MM for Villains Unleashed. I didn't do anything other than have my band scanned at the party and the new photos just showed up.

I may have to call Photo Pass tomorrow to see if it can be added to your account witout MM. If not looks like I will be adding MM.
