Just need a confirm; I think I've read that dishwasher soap is provided; if so, is it enough, or do you bring extra?

Also, from the previous discussions on water quality and coffee complaints, what does everyone use water-wise to brew coffee in the room? Do you use bottled water?

Silly little details, I know! Natt

The first time, we brought extra dishwasher soap. We never used it, what was there was plenty. For coffee, we used the tap water.

We're big water drinkers, so we usually buy the big 2.5 gal jugs of water and keep in refrigerator. We make coffee, fill glasses for consumption in the room and fill our smaller water bottles from that.

There is a canister of dishwasher powder provided and housekeeping replaces it if needed when they provide cleaning service on the 4th day.

As for the water, I've found it to taste pretty awful the last few times I've visited and it does affect the taste of the coffee. I use the tap water, but bring my Britta water bottle and filter with me; I have found that it helps improve the taste a great deal. Bottled water is also a good idea.

They seem to have hard water there. I've noticed that when I shampoo I have to lather three times for my hair to get really clean and I have no such problems at home. My friend was there in April and she noticed this as well.

We brought a case of water bottles for the parks, pool, etc. We drink a lot of water and these were very convenient to throw in a backpack or fanny pack when we left the room.

For coffee I used the tap water. I make mine strong so the water didn't seem to have any adverse impact on the taste of the finished product.

Dishwasher: At BVC we got about six packets of diswasher detergent but used only two while we were there. I am used to hand-washing so that's what I did. We also got a small bottle of palmolive dish soap, which I used for dished. I did bring a good sponge from home, and I'm glad because the one in th eroom was pretty wimpy.

Thanks everyone! We are driving and will be bringing case(s) of water (DH is hooked on the flavored water, but I'd rather have the natural). I will probably buy a gallon jug for the room as well!

At home here, we can get away with running the dishwasher everyother day, so I imagine it SHOULD be less while on vacation and that the soap supplied should suffice! Whew, one less tiny detail to worry about! ;)
