i did a search but couldn’t find if this has been asked before…. Please direct me to the thread if there’s one. With the new VGF addition being all studios, I’m worried that the ability to book any of the 1 bedrooms (my normal room choice) will become a fierce competition the morning the 11 month booking opens. Anyone else have this concern?

There will be more competition for all the current rooms

However, at this point we don’t know if it will be impactful for owners or just those at 7 months.

I have usually had no trouble getting my few nights at 7 months using SSR points

Some of us are adding points there for the larger rooms but some current owners may want the new rooms as well.

In the past VGF 1BRs have had an 11-month-out reservation issue only for times during the first two weeks of Dec and time around NYE, both extremely high DVC demand times when 1BRs were being grabbed mainly because the members could not get a studio for that time. My sense is that the addition of the new studios will likely eliminate any problem that previously existed with getting a 1BR at 11-months out.

With a bunch of new owners, there's likely to be a lot more competition for the new rooms. The new owners will likely want to stay at their new resort before venturing off to other resorts.

I guess we'll have to wait and see how bad it is. If I end up buying, I'll be hunting for one bedrooms at the 11 month point, so I guess I'll be part of the problem. :rotfl2:

Other than the first two weeks of December and the week between Christmas & New Year's Day, I don't think it's going to be an issue for those willing to book at 11 months. 1 & 2 bedroom villas have been available at 7 months for much of the year.

IMO, it's only going to change things for those who book at 7 months. Their days of using SAP for VGF may be over. We'll see, but the full impact may not be felt for at least 2 or 3 years. I agree with @drusba - I think the current 1 bedroom issue for December dates is due to those who couldn't get a studio and took the next least expensive option. The 200 new resort studios are going to free up a lot of those 1 bedrooms booked at 11 months.

It will be interesting to see if more people go for connecting studios over 1 bedrooms, like some do over at PVB. I personally believe they should have put in a Murphy bed at VGF2 and did a couple more changes that wouldn’t take much time. You cannot see the TV from the couch. This will be the 2nd resort with 2 real queen beds in studios, OKW being the other. I wonder if some will switch from OKW to take advantage of the location?

I am looking at adding to my VGF so I can secure my 1bd at 11 months. Before it wasn't that much of a hassle to use my BCV points to fill in the days I needed, those days are coming to an end.
