We just bought our own points at BLT but won't be using those till next year. However we are using a friends points to stay in a 1 BR Villa next month at the Grand Californian. We have been to DLR 3 times before so I know where the DVC is/adjacent to the hotel. However since VGC don't distinguish room types is there an area that has a better view? I would love to be able to see DCA rather than the pool or gardens. I would ask our friend to make a notation on the reservation, but not sure what I should be asking for (of course if available upon check-in). Thanks for any info you can give, everyone is always so great! :goodvibes

We were just there in May and had a wonderful room on the 5th floor with perfect views of the entire pool area and the DL fireworks! Magical!

Anyhow, when I called a month or so before to make requests, the CM told me not to ask for park view right now because of all the construction and I was glad I didn't. The view would have basically been of metal constructions frames covered in a mesh cloth! So, you may want to ask but it seemed like so many parts of DCA were under construction.

We just returned from a park view room on the third floor, and it was great. We had a nice view of the WoC rehearsals every night. We didn't really see any noticeable construction.

We just stayed in 5516 for a week, last week, and the view was fantastic. It was a studio...and a lockoff...so the 1BR was 5514. I had requested Paradise Pier view, high floor. Awesome view...they really hooked us up. :)

Have fun!

Thanks for the replies! It seems that each of you had a room that you were very pleased with is really good to know. So hopefully we can't go wrong. I know DCA has lots of construction going on and that is something to keep in mind, but it seems like some of the theme park views are not being affected by it. Again, I appreciate your replies, the trip is getting closer and I am very excited. :cool1:

I'm sure you'll enjoy your stay, no matter the view. But if you'd like a park view, then just have your friend add "park view and upper floor" to your ressie. Good luck and say hello to VGC for me.

Thanks, I will have my friend do just that! RMONTY02 I see you are from California, just thought I would add that I love your state!! As much as I enjoy WDW going to DLR and visiting other sites/places in California is awesome . This will be our fifth trip and it is always like a new place (with of course a visit to an old friend - Disney). I will definately say hi to VGC for you;)
