Villas at Animal Kingdom Lodge

Is that a name we just made up? I see that it is what many people say when talking about future DVC sites. (including myself)

Or has it been officially discussed as a possible future DVC home, and that will be the official name?

Just wondering why I call it that.

I think we all just decided that they would choose a name patterned after The Villas at Wilderness Lodge.

People here (including me) have a bit of fun imagining names for new resorts. When attached to an existing resort, it usually ends up with the resort initials with the "V" at the beginning or the end.

Personally, I like the "V" at the beginning, but VWL is the only resort that has that (other than Vero Beach ). Somehow, "Villas at Disney's ...." sounds very deluxe to me.

So VAKL and VCR are just guesses, and have become acceptable abbreviations for these rumored resorts until an official name comes out.

I just came back from AKL, where I talked to the DVC rep there. Unfortunately, I didn't get any suggestion from her that there might be an AKL location for DVC. I even said that it's so nice here, I'd love to see DVC build at AKL. Nope, she just said "Yes, this is a nice resort." I guess I don't have that "share Rumors" look about me. Later in the week, I also talked with the DVC rep at BCV, who was very chatty. However, he indicated that even DVC doesn't know where they're going to build next. All he said was that he was sure it would be around the Disney parks, rather than "stand alone", like HH and VB are.

Yes, just here on the DIS we came up with VAKL. Like Diane said, it seems to make sense. Now, the rumors about the Contemporary DVC name are a bit different as there isn't the consistency. Some are saying VCR (as in Villas at the Contemporary Resort), but that is too much like those pre-DVD machines! The other say CRV, but then that sounds like the Honda small SUV...

But in terms of AKL...IF that gets built (and I STILL say DL is next), then yes, VAKL seems to be most likely choice of a name.

Besides, you can pronounce VAKL.
