WDW news today just tweeted....

The Villains Mix 'N' Mingle show has been retired from MNSSHP, a new show will replace it this year.

And now we know why there was such a steep price increase in tickets this year :eek:If there ends up still being a "mingle" aspect to the new show, I hope it's more organized then when I saw it in 2013.

I love seeing new shows but alas, I won't be going to Disney World during MNSSHP this year - I'm still trying to decided if I even want to go during MVMCP.
I have a trip upcoming in a couple of weeks and that will help me decide if I'd rather go to Disneyland and visit my sister near San Diego instead.

That was a priority for us this year since we missed it last year. Oh well. Either see the new show or more rides.

I'm sure there'll be a mix and mingle, it'll be a separate cost.

Oh god good

After they got rid of the meet and greet after it was cringe worthy to watch that!

I'll go ahead and say it, because someone here will if I don't. The replacement will be Frozen related.

Now that that silliness is out of the way, I don't think we'll be going this year--the trend of higher prices and the removal of another MNSSHP staple continues.

I confess, I find this hilarious. The whole point of a "mingle" is that it is disorganized. To me, this proves that the very idea of a mix and mingle with characters is a bad one. People get crazy about teenagers in costumes at WDW. It would be safer and more organized if Disney dumped a garbage bag full of $100 bills from a helicopter hovering over the castle.

I am hoping that it is not because there a separating more of the villians for paid experiences.

I understand what you're saying and completely agree. My point was that if they are going to offer the mingle aspect of the show, it should be more organized specifically for safety reasons. What I witnessed was multiple CM's trying to get a handle on the mob of party goers piled up 20 deep around the villains in front of the stage trying to snap pics while smaller kids where being pushed aside and knocked down. They weren't able to mingle in the least with the crush of mostly adults surrounding them. Maybe have the stage show but also a separate M&G area rotating different villains through at different times. I just know I haven't seen a crazy mob of people like that since going to rock concerts in high school, LOL

I thought the Mix & Mingle was still going to be there, just not for free

I think that is the only way it could possibly work, assuming they are committed to the "mingling" part of it. A private event with 50 guests is manageable, allowing everyone at the party that night to rush the stage is a recipe for disaster. I'm surprised the lawyers ever allowed it to happen.
