Question: When buying VAH merch, do you need a wristband to physically purchase anything?

My aunt will be at the MK on the same day as a VAH event. She is not staying for the party but has a Happily Ever After Desert After-party booked for that night. We spoke to GS and they said that the after-party is open, but once they are done with their desserts they cannot stay in the park, fair enough.

I really want one of those Hades tumblers, so I was going to ask her if she could pick one up on her way out of the park. Will they let her buy anything VAH related if she is technically not with the party? She will be leaving when the party is in full swing b/c of the HEA after-party.

Hard to tell, but I read reports that ONLY holiday party guests are allowed into the party-specific area to purchase merchandise. I assume that the CMs will require the wristband. She can check it out but don't get your hopes up that she'll be allowed to purchase.

Reports from yesterday's event were saying you needed to show a wristband to purchase the merchandise.

In the PotC gift shop they had it out around 8(?)) but wouldn’t even let you look at it (touch it) unless you had a wristband on.

looks like I need to toss my aunt a few extra bucks to bribe someone with a wristband to buy it. lol. Damn Disney black market!!

I, for one, am ecstatic that they require proof.

This seems one way they are finally at least trying to do something to somewhat curtail the E-Bayers scooping up all the merch!! Not sure if there is a limit on how much you can buy, but I don’t think a ton of people are going to spend $139+tax ($109+tax for APs) just to buy merchandise to resell.
