I know this question has been asked before but ha anyone stayed here recently?? My sister is staying there in two weeks and she has been reading bad reviews and is a bit worried now!!

To be honest it's not the best, if she accepts it for that and does not expect much more she will be fine. It is a basic hotel, the rooms are a fair size but a bit shoddy, nothing fancy inside. The first time we visited Florida we stayed there and when we arrive we were a bit unnerved as there was a swastika carved into the door. The thing to remember is you can book better hotels at a cheaper price if you do not use a tour operator.

The Village Inn next door is fine though and the food is lovely. It is just off I - Drive on Westwood Boulevard and is quiet. There is a garage next door if they need food and drink. The rooms had HBO and Pay per view movies, really though how much time do you spend in your room when away?

We stayed there in december 2003 and it has to be one of the worst we have stayed in. We found napies down the side of the furniture and the room always smelt musky. We were that fed up that we went and booked into another hotel for a couple of nights. We wont stay there again, sorry

If its anything to go by, I stayed there three times in the 90's when it was the Wynfield and elder bro' went there too.

He hated it and found it dirty, ill-kept and unsafe - left on the first day and complained to Virgin who refunded all his extra cost plus £200. Virigin promptly removed it as a Flagship Hotel and admitted to us that they had had dozens of complaints - this was 2003.....

Not seen anthing since to change my mind that there are much better places at very comparable prices.

we stayed there in october,i had read the reviews and i was sceptical,however when we got there it was not that bad,the rooms were tidy and cleaned everyday ,the location is great ,right outside there is a i ride stop,you can walk to seaworld in 5 mins.
there is a bar by the pool that has a happy hour(shame about the staff who run the bar)
there is free transportation to the parks that leave in the mornings and return at 6pm and 9pm

my verdict: no better but certainly no worse than many othe hotels on idrive

I stayed there in 2003 when I booked it as a Virgin flagship hotel, though by the time we got there it had been dropped by Virgin. To be honest, though I was disappointed by the size of the room, it did the job for my holiday, you don't really spend too much time there. The complimentary breakfast was nothing much to write home about, just toast basically! To be honest a better option would be the Red Horse Inn next to Wet n' Wild, a lot cheaper, bigger rooms, much friendlier staff and a better location.

Myself and Partner stayed there in Oct 03 and found it to be ok! We are also staying there in early Feb. If you just want a room for the night, then its fine. Found the Village Inn to be very friendly place to eat, which is next Door.

shen are you going superchef?? We are leaving here 10th feb.

She is going with virgin, do you think if she rang them they would let her change her hotel at such short notice??

If she asks they may do so, if they refuse she could always say that the brochure says the hotel is on I-Drive (which it does) when it isn't (Westwood Bol). Or complain when she gets there and they'll move her on then.

She has changed her hotel to Howard Johnson now which still has some bad reviews but she feels better about that one!!! Virgin only charged £106 for two people to change so that isn't too bad i suppose!
