Villa Sleeper sofas

Can anyone tell me how comfortable the sleeper sofas are in the Villas? The studios are listed as having a queen size bed and a double sleeper sofa. Do you think an adult male would have any problem sleeping on the double pull out sofa? Some sleeper sofas I've slept on in the past were terribly uncomfortable (only marginally better than sleeping on the sofa itself).

As another possibility can you get a rollaway in the Villas?

We are trying to accomodate 5 adults and 2 children (one of whom is as big as an adult) in a two bedroom (or possibly 3 studios) meaning all the beds AND sleeper sofas will be put to use!

Thanks for your help!

Hi Mary,

These sleeper sofas are as uncomfortable as you imagine.

Just like what you would have at home. Our daughter ended up just sleeping on the couch itself instead of opening it up.

We stayed in a one bedroom at the BWV. Since my younger son went to sleep earlier than the rest of us, we put him in the bedroom with DH. My other son and I slept on the pull-out in the living room, so that we could watch TV.
I was completely comfy on the pull-out, and I'm 5'8.

I think it depends on the resort. My husband slept on the one at BCV and we said it was just fine.

This question is often asked over at the DVC board, where many people have posted that they are comfortable.

They are sleeper sofas, so they're not as comfortable as bed!!! That being said, they're not completely awful either. I think the heavier the person is, the more uncomfortable it is, since you place more pressure on the springs and that metal bar. Also, roll- aways are not available at any DVC resort. If you're truly worried, bring an aerobed.

I have slept on the sleeper sofa at OKW, BCV and BWV. While not as comfortable as the beds, they were not uncomfortable. I did not feel any bars under my back or awkward lumps. I slept comfortably on them. There were no sags either. I am 5'11". Not tiny by any means.

If you stay in a 2 bedroom at OKW, you will have two queen sized beds, one king sized bed and one sleeper. If you stay at any of the other DVC resorts, you may have either one queen and a sleeper or two queens in the second bedroom. Depends on your luck of the draw.

If you get three studios at OKW, you will have 6 queen sized beds.

We stayed in a studio at VWL in March and because our DD has a bad back (hyperextended it while diving in a swim meet), we let her and her friend use the bed and DH and I slept on the sofa bed. I thought it was quite comfortable. I would sleep on it again.

This works extremely well over the top of any SOFA~SLEEPER, and is so easy to carry/pack/bring in it's travel cover. I've used this many times, and never even notice I'm on a Sofa! ;)

hi: we're dvc members and have had many people sleeping on the pull-out sofas over the years. the age range is from 12-74yo of the people who have slept in those beds. they aren't as comfy as a regular bed, but no one ever complained about them. believe me, when my 74yo mother shared the bed with my 12 yo niece one trip, she would've complained if it had been uncomfortable. i'd still be hearing about it. my son and dil haven't had any problems with it either.

We don't like the sofer beds at all. My family finds them very uncomfortable. This obviously is a matter of opinion. It's my biggest complaint about DVC (and we have been members since 1991). I wish they would put in 2 queens as an option in all the resorts. This is just my opinion, hopefully you will find them comfy, many people do.

Have Fun!!
