Can anyone recommend a nice, themed villa with (ideally) 5 masters and 1 or 2 twins?

Hi

It is rare but not unknown to have 5 masters in a 7 bedroom home.
What do you regards as being a master?

Grand Formosa is a fine home and has high occupancy rates thoughout the year. The owner does have a couple of other homes but nothing quite as big as that.

Good luck with your search.

Going to look into places with 4 masters and 2 twins in a moment and email everyone the shortlist

You will find a much bigger selection with 4 masters and 2-3 twins
Let us know which one you and your family decide on.

Good Luck

Paul

We've found a few we really like. They're all located in Formosa Gardens or Emerald Island. Can anyone tell me if either area has any particular advantages we should know about?

Can anyone tell me which of those areas is nicer? If either has any particular advantages we should know about? I know that Emerald Island has a resort pool and gym etc (that we're highly unlikely to use anyway) and Formosa Gardens is closer to WDW. Anything else?

They are both really nice areas, and EI is only about 3/4 mile further away from WDW, so not that big of an issue. EI has the advantage of a 24hr security guard whereas FG has a gate code only.

As you can see from my signature we prefer FG, but we just like the fact that FG is a small community, and all the homes are on large lots with huge spaces between each home.

I think whichever community you choose, you'll have a great time.

Since there's not much difference in the resorts, we went with one in Emerald Island--just because it was the most unique/themed.

Not sure if I'm supposed/allowed to name the actual villa?

We applied for a quotation and called last night to give the card details for the deposit, which will be charged once we've signed and returned the contract. My friend will be faxing it from work so that won't happen until Monday.

We went through all the recommended questions in the guide book I have, but any further advice/tips would be welcome.

One thing we weren't expecting was to have to name the people that will be staying - we're a definite 5, a highly probable 7, and a quite possible 9! But we won't be able to confirm until certain people return from current holidays/book the time off work etc...Obviously we'll need to check with the owners, but can you usually add people later on without an extra fee or anything?

Most owners are happy to add extra names as long as it doesn't take the final number over their maximum.I don't know of an owner who charges for adding a name but there may be some

Owners need the names for insurance purposes and emergency purposes. It is for your own well being. You can add names like Jan has stated and I do not know if you will be charged but I would think not.

Thanks. I'm going to get in touch with the owner and just mention that we'll probably want to add a couple of names in the next few weeks...just make sure that's okay with her.

We'll be a maximum of 9 and the villa sleeps 14, so I can't see it being a problem.

Wow. I can't believe we're actually going! :dance3:

I've been reading some of the onsite vs. offsite posts and I'm definitely coming round to the idea that offsite is best for a group like ours. Very excited.

Offsite is definitely better for large groups.

You'll have a great time at EI, and I don't think there are any issues in you posting the villa details that you have booked.

In that case, we've chosen Minnie's Maingate Manor. :cheer2:

It was the most fun/themed villa we could find. The people (me included) who were disappointed about staying offsite and missing out on some of the magic felt it a good compromise.

For a group like ours offsite is definitely the most sensible option. With various couples and singles, rooming together would have been a nightmare for space and privacy.

We haven't finished dealing with the contract/names yet. Just waiting to hear back from the owner...she's really friendly and really helpful, which is a huge bonus for a group that's so new to all this.

hey there are even some villa that will allow you to kept your puppy with you.

That would be awesome. I do love my puppy and my friends love my puppy (probably more than they love me!) :lovestruc

Unfortunately, we're coming from the UK and I don't think they'd let him sit on my lap on the plane:sad2:
