How many are traveling? How long is the stay? What is your budget? What would be your ideal trip?

What size villa are you looking at? How many people? Which DVC resort are you considering for the villa? It's a big stretch money-wise to go from a pop room to a villa as the villas are much more expensive.

There is no way we would choose Pop over an offsite property. We recently returned from 2 weeks at Disney. We had a 3-bedroom, 3-bath townhouse at Windsor Palms with a full kitchen, washer/dryer, living room and dining area and private in-ground pool. That cost us $89/night. There is just no comparison between that an a tiny onsite room.

depends what your looking for. Im a DVC member and I couldnt stay at POP for a week...I have had good experiences at Orange lake and Vistana...there a cheaper option than DVC villas but then you might hafta rent a car for transp. and pay togo into Disny parking lots. I know theres several people who like Bonnet Creek too which is closest resort to Disney thats not on property, but kinda is. That resort has free transportation to the parx.

to stay at pop for 2 weeks and too stay at the villa for two weeks there wasnt much price difference :S

there would be 4 adults and 2 children 1 infant. i want to go to all disney parks and universal studios and busch gardens, seaworld ect basically all the parks

my main point is the travel im confused because the villa is ment to be 25min to get to disney...pop resort is 20min on bus..is that correct? so there isnt much distance in it to get to disney

There are plenty of villas available that are much less than 25 minutes from Disney. In fact, many are closer to the Disney parks than many of the Disney hotels are.

Just depends what you want. Pop will give you daily room service, extra magic hours, transportation, on site meals (no cooking required). Off site villas give you more room for your money, but you also have to drive everywhere and you don't get emh.

Completely up to you, different strokes...:)

If the offsite property is advertising 25 minutes to Disney, keep in mind that's probably just an estimate of getting onto property - not necessarily to the parks. Going from the southern edge of property (like near AKL) to MK, for example, you're adding another 10-15 minutes driving. As a PP stated, you can find offsite condos and homes much closer to property than a 25 minute drive.

I just want to make sure you are comparing two rooms at pop to the villa, because 7 people will not be allowed in one room.

There are many, many private homes much closer to WDW than 25 minutes. I would look in the following developments: Emerald Island, Indian Creek, Windsor Hills, and Windsor Palms. These are all very close to Disney (5 -15 minutes to the parking lots of the parks). You can get a 4 br house for much less than 2 rooms at Pop, and your comfort level will be much greater, especially with 3 kids over two weeks. Everyone will have room to spread out. You will have a full kitchen, laundry, extra bathrooms, somewhere to watch TV while the kids nap, probably your own pool. Lots of villas also provide baby gear such as a pack N play, highchair and stroller.

Check out Wyndham Bonnet Creek. You can be "onsite" but still have a villa for about $120 a night including taxes.

The resort is beautiful and the location is perfect. It is next door to the Caribbean Beach Resort...right near the Boardwalk area and very close to Downtown Disney with great highway access for SeaWorld and Universal.

The pools are wonderful with a couple lazy rivers that the kids would love. They have pool bar/restaurants, free mini golf, activities for kids, etc..

The units are much nicer than a regular hotel room. You have a washer/dryer right in the unit so you can pack less, three tv's, two full bathrooms, full kitchen.

For the amenities, price and location I think it is the best deal at Disney. I don't think POP would wind up being much less and for all that extra space, you can't go wrong.

Have a great trip!

We just got back from 2 weeks at Windsor Palms so I just wanted to confirm this. About 10-15 minutes from AK and DHS, a bit longer to MK and EC which are farther away. A few times, we rented a timeshare at Orbit One and I timed the drive from AK to our unit at 4-1/2 minutes. Tough to beat that anywhere on property.

Rented 4bed/3 bath pool home in Sunset Lakes last summer and it was closer than 25min. to all the parks. We took the Sherbeth road short cut. We really like the Pop and have stayed many times but for the price of the house was fantastic. I don't know that we will stay on property again. We loved the extra room and our own pool. The drive was very easy even at park closing.

Folks are trying to help you here, but you have to be specific on what you are talking about.

When you say "villa," are you talking about a Disney Vacation Club villa? If so, all of the DVC resorts are closer to the parks than Pop, and they're all much more expensive than Pop/All Stars, etc...unless you are considering renting from a DVC owner.

When you say 25 minutes away, that sounds to me like Kissimmee.

I think if you give the NAME of the resort you're considering in addition to Pop, people will know what you're talking about and will be able to give you better advice.

I would go with the villa over the POP. We have stayed onsite and like it but started go rent a villa and we couldn't go back to a one room hotel room. We also like having a pvt pool, it's really a treat. You will find so many to choose from, I'm sure you won't be sorry IMHO.

I completely agree with this. We stayed offsite for years and were VERY happy. Now we alternate, or stay wherever the price is right.

There really is no comparison between a Disney value hotel and staying off site in a villa or pool home. I'd take the villa every time over a value! We did finally get to stay the Polynesian, my dream resort, and I loved the convenience of the monorail and being so close to some of my favorite restaurants, but we agreed we will never go back to a Disney value hotel. If budget is an issue, we'd much rather stay at Windsor Hills!

Not sure where the villa you're looking at is located, but you should plan on 1 hr for Disney bus transportation. If you arrive at the bus stop after a bus has just left, it could be 20 more minutes before the next one comes. We've found it much quicker to drive ourselves!

For anything over four nights my personal preference is a Villa rather than a hotel. Hotels just get old really fast for me for more than a short stay. Love the kitchen for a few meals in and having a washer and dryer too. For larger groups too, the bigger common areas, nice balconies with table and chairs are so nice for visiting. There are so many terriffic offsite condos/houses in the Orlando area that you can get for a really good price (great value). A car, though, is a must. These are super close to parks, but shuttle options are quite limited and the car will be great for grocery runs, occasional meals out, quick access to and from parks and other fun Orlando area things. // For a shorter stay -- sometimes Disney onsite is really a blast (just my opinion) // Haven't done the pop per say, but have done All Star Movie, Port Orleans, and Contempory for four night stays and camping at Fort Wilderness a few times for week long stays. // My pick for a week or longer these days, though, is usually an offsite condo.
