Planning for 2005 is now in full swing!!!! Can anyone help me out with some info about the following villa locations. This year we stayed in Cumbrian Lakes - and we loved the location - close to walmart, really straightforward to get to WDW and the villa was almost brand new.
I know where these are located on a map, but any 'real' info about them would be great - age of villas, drive time to WDW, any shops/ restaurants nearby etc etc. I have looked at so many villas on the internet I'm getting confused, so I need to pick a location first.

Calabay Park
Manors at Westridge
Davenport
Abbey at West Haven
Hampton Lakes
Highlands Reserve
Emerald Island
Formosa Gardens

I need a 4/5 bed villa preferably with 2 identical master suites, sleeping 4 adults 5 kids - so if anyone has any suggestions - feel free to help me out!!!

We have book Calabay Parc for next summer for our first disney trip. I understand that there are 2 master suites in these quite new villas. I know it isn't the closest to WDW but equally there seem to be a lot of villas further out than this too. Looking forward to any replies other people post.

Happy Planning

Cath,

We've just come back from a lovely 6 bed 4 bath villa at Indian Creek which is about 200 yards further down the road from Formosa Gardens. You turn off the Hwy 192 at Splendid China, about 3 mins later turn left into Indian Creek.

Indian Creek is about 10-15 mins from getting in the car on the drive to getting out of the car at the MK car park, depending on traffic. Only Formosa gardens is nearer, apparently, and Rolling Hills is just across the road.

It was new, beautifully furnished with a lovely pool and spa. The yard was fenced, and although close to the neighbours and another road, we felt very private. The only down side was the pool was east facing so it was not sunny all the time. This won't be a problem if you are going in the summer!

Here's the villa: (I hope).

www.1stfororlando.com have other homes and I'd definitely recommend them - very helpful.

Also go to www.orlando-maps.info. You will find maps of all the rental homes areas on there.

Good luck!

Oh - I meant to say that the master suites were not identical - one had an "ordinary" bathroom with shower over the bath, and the other had a plush bathroom and dressing room.

But the beds were enormous and both had doors to the lanai. Ideal for those early morning sneaky dips without the children knowing!! ;)

Hi Cath,

We've stayed in plenty of villas over the past 8 years so I maybe able to help with locations.

Calabay Park - Highway 27
Manors at Westridge - I27
Davenport - I27
Abbey at West Haven - not sure
Hampton Lakes - I27
Highlands Reserve - I27
Emerald Island - off 192 behind Splendid China
Formosa Gardens - off 192 behind Splendid China

I personally prefer to be on the 192 but that's a personal choice based on us having 3 young kids and wanting to be more on top of things. We've previously stayed at Chatham Park, Hampton Lakes, Windsor Palms (twice), Formosa Gardens & Rolling Hills. Again I prefer to be by Splendid China which is why over the last 4 years we've rented there. It's only 3.5 miles from Disney, 1mile from Formosa Gardens Plaza which has a fantastic choice of restaurants, take-outs, supermarket, drug store etc. We often use to drive to Carabbas or Giodannis Pizza to look at the menu, order our grub, drive home in 2 mins and either drive back to pick it up (kerbside carry out) or have it delivered.

You may want to stay where it's slightly quieter in which case you could go with your other selections. They're all great developments and you shouldn't go far wrong with either of your choices.

Have fun choosing

:D

I stayed in Highlands Reserve in March this year, which was great. Villas all appeared new and close to WDW.

I hope you don't really mean davenport -as it is way way down the 27.the postal area of davenport covers communities right up to the 192 /27 junction. My 5 bed home is officially in Davenport but it is only 1.5 miles from the 192.

For us just off the 192 is ideal, close to restaurants, supermarkets and easy access to the I-4.
Hence , Indian Point is the one for us, development is a few years old but there are newer homes on there too (some less than 3 years old)..just next door is Cumbrian Lakes , all new homes and is recommended also.
Of the ones you have listed have driven round Formosa Gardens -at the other end of the 192 to IP, it is very nice.

Calabay Parc is the best we have looked at though, all the homes look brilliant but as it is on the US27 we still opt for Indian Point.

Davenport is a bit too far away for us really, cannot comment on the others.
