Hi,

Had a villa booked for 3 weeks in August - looks like the owners might have been offered a better deal!! We now need a 3 bed villa, heated pool & spa with a games rooms if poss - kids are 14 + 10. Would like use of golf clubs & fishing gear but prepared to bring our own. I know it is asking a lot but it was booked with a reasonable discount for the 3rd week from 10th - 31st Aug this year!!!! Apparently the owners are now going out themselves for part of this time - yeah right!! (Deposit returned thankfully. ) Anyone got any suggestions, can't face trawling through the list again....... :confused3

How terrible at least you got your deposit back.

I've started this post & now can't find the webb address of the company we booked through Sorry.

If i find I'll post it later.

Good luck , You have got time on your side

That is terrible, even if they wanted to go out, once they have taken a booking that should be it!

There are a few websites I normally check.
I would strongly recommend a villa just off the 192 , close to either Formosa Gardens area or Poinciana Boulevard.

Indian Creek (FG), and Cumbrian Lakes (PB) are both very nice.

The websites are below, sorry have not stayed in a 3 bedroomed for a while, normally we get a 4.

Try these perhaps:
www.villas2000.com/frbvo/homes/2177.php
www.villas2000.com/frbvo/homes/2754.php
www.villas2000.com/frbvo/homes/3043.php

www.holiday-rentals.com/Florida/Orl...e-Area/holiday-villa-Windsor-Palms/p57042.htm
www.holiday-rentals.com/Florida/Orl...mee-Area/holiday-villa-Chatham-Park/p3306.htm

It is highly unlikely you will find one that provides Golf Clubs and Fishing Gear.

I found this one when looking for one for ourselves and had some e-mail communications with the owners. In the end we decided on a 4 bed - but this ticked all the other boxes and the owners did us a good deal (it was for a November booking though). Looking at their availability it doesn't look available for the 10th so may not be appropriate.

Sorry to hear about that thats awful to do that to you.

I no that some one on another site has the palms villa and said that the people they deal with are very friendly. They had a list of 5 properties and this one got their money Take a lookhttp://jameslittle.me.uk/florida/index.htm

Thanks a lot for info, I will have a look at what is available. I am glad it did not happen nearer the date, at least I have some time to find another villa.

Hi sorry you had problems I went with www.oystervillas.co.uk they were fantastic and had a good selection of villas we would never go with anyone else. I know one villa on Terre Verde had a games room. Drop them an email it is in my signature. Hope you find somewhere!

Hi Again,

Mike from Oyster Villas has come up trumps with a Villa on Indian Creek that is available for our dates. :cool1: It has 3 bedrooms and a spa and looks lovely.

It is more than we were paying before, £485 per week so nearly £1500 for the 3 weeks, but I think the area looks quite nice???

Only problem is that he can only let us have some still photos that are quite small, would have liked to have had a proper look around on a web site.

Anyone know any more about this community?

Thanks again,

Jen

Hi Jen,

Yes we have stayed there a few times and can highly recommend Indian Creek.

The location is ideal with restaurants, supermarket (a Publix 5 minutes away) and good access to Disney and the I4.

All the homes on there are fairly new, for us it's the best place to stay and that's where we are going this coming August.

You have to drive everywhere, there is nothing within walking distance, however, all the villa developments are the same regarding that.

Just one thing, there is some major road construction on-going very close to the development, ask the owners if the home is backing on to this - a new major road basically - if it is not, then you have no problems with IC at all.

That seems a little pricey to me Jen to be honest.

We are going at the same time as you and our requirements were the same as yours - I was flooded with offers by registering on a couple of villa websites and we found loads that were under £400 per week. In fact one of the ones we fancied was only £285 for a week!

Just looking at your pm now Jennie - will respond soon ;)

I think it depends on season and what you get for your money. We're paying over £500 per week for ours in August and for what we want/need couldn't find one much cheaper. :)

Yes it can sometimes depend on that, and the development where you are staying.
I think £500 is slightly more than average, bearing in mind it's a 3 bedroomed home and with staying for 3 weeks I would have expected a slight reduction in the overall cost, which is what I said in response to Jen's PM.

At the end of the day when speaking about costs you can only ask, there are so many villas out there to choose from if one doesn't work out.

You're quite right, and the one we've booked is a 4-bed which explains why it is more expensive. Hadn't thought of that - brain not working this morning!!

:) - Thats ok mine isn't really either.

The short term rental market is suffering from over supply with too many homes and not enough guests. Tough luck on the owners but fantastic news currently for guests. Thousands of great homes available at cheap prices.
One of the best places to look surprisingly is Ebay where you will find owners advertising their homes at rock bottom prices. No need to do any bidding just make them an offer.

Hi Again,

Its hard though, we don't want to take advantage of anyone or of a situation, quite happy to pay a fair price but its knowing what that price is. Its great to have these boards and people like Johnny to bounce things off.

We don't want to pay over the odds either. The more you look, the harder it gets, there is just so much choice and we have started getting VERY picky. I actually said about 1 villa, is that the one with the awful 3 piece suite? We are only renting for 3 weeks not buying the blinking thing!!!

Need to find some where and get it booked before I go over the edge!!!

Waiting for a few responses to questions, hopefully have somewhere sorted by the weekend.

Jen
