I am planning a family trip with my parents, my brother & his family, and my family for June. I have been looking at the houses online (we definately want a house). I think that I read somewhere that you can get off cheaper going directly through the owner? Is that true? I did see some sites that let you leave a message for the owner as to their rates. I just need some direction!!:scared:

I prefer dealing with an owner - most are really helpful and have a management company locally. Some may discount if you book a second week and it never hurts to ask.

Usually dealing with owner is cheaper. You can go to the vrbo (vacation rentals by owner) site and pick out a few and just fill in the request which will go to the owner asking for a quote. Listing site for Kissimmee:
http://www.vrbo.com/vacation-rentals/usa/florida/central-disney-orlando/kissimmee
There's also www.homeaway.com for Kissimmee. Some subdivisions have their own owners listing site like:
Windsor Hills: www.windsorhillsrent.com You can contact owners individually or send an inquiry to a bunch. Try to be as specific as you can or you'll get more responses than you want. Example: how many bedrooms
Emerald Island: www.stayatemeraldisland.com
Indian CreeK: http://www.indiancreekflorida.com/index.htm
Allstarvacationhomes and Floridasunvacationhomes are both good companies if you want to go that route.
Here's a map of the area with the subdivisions marked:
