Viggle App: Get rewards for watching television!

I've had very little luck with ads lately. There must be some new secret places they are hiding because I can find very few even after logging out and hard restarts! Most of what I get are the Hollywoood Sweepstakes ads

I am new to viggle, I am doing the beta version for Android .

So, how do you browse? I want to make sure I am maximizing the points I can get for ads? Any advice for a newbie is most welcome.

Click the "What's On" button. This brings you to the page that lists all the Featured Shows.

In the upper left hand corner is a button next to the words, "Featured Shows." Press this button, and a menu pulls down.

In this menu you will see, "Most chatter right now", and "search for shows."

Under both of those you can hunt for ads. For the "search for shows" some of the most popular searches are: NBA, soccer, PGA golf, swimming, etc. Lost of sports stuff. Plus search for shows: The Office, Law and Order, and Lingo seem to have ads most of the time. But it varies from person to person.....just search for anything you can think of!

I've noticed that at least for me, there seem to be some 'hot' times- the ones I've noticed are +/- 15 minutes around 9am, 4pm, 6pm (sometimes) and the 11pm CST reset. During those times I can pretty much run adds continuously and accumulate a lot...is this true for others, and if so, are there times that I'm missing? Is there a pattern?

Also- I didn't figure out until yesterday that if I do a tile add, accept my points alert, hit the 'rewards' button then hit the "what's on" button that the red check goes away and I can get a few more plays out of the ad...are there any other secrets like that?

I don't think it's that....I have a lot of free time on my hands, and search just about everything. Back in the day, Viggle consistently had ads all day and all night long.

But in the past month I've noticed it's changed big time. Viggle brings out the "point ads" in spurts through the day. Some spurts last 3 minutes, or sometimes it's goes for 10 minutes. Sometimes the ads are just under the Featured Shows, and other times they also show up under the "search function."

And sometimes ads show up after you've checked into a show. And other times checking into a show makes the "point" ads go away. There are a lot of variables that I've noticed after doing this for so long!

I just think you need to be in the right place, at the right time. If you happen to be in the app during a "spurt", then you lucked out. But if not, then you missed out on those points. It happens to all of us.

To be completely honest, I don't hunt out point ads as much as I used to. The bulk of the daily limit comes from the 12 hours of check ins, plus Featured Bonus shows. That's what I concentrate on!


ETA: Not sure if this happens to others, but when I cash out for a reward, I usually don't see too many ads for the rest of the day. May sound weird, but it's something I've noticed. So I try and wait to cash out at night.

This doesn't work for everyone. It used to work for me, but since I've downloaded the newer version of the app, I can't get those ads to reset anymore. And when I am successful, the ad is usually replaced with a Hollywood Sweepstakes ad.

I didn't read your post before my other one, but yea, I do notice the ads come out in "spurts." The reset at midnight (eastern time) is always a given, though it doesn't seem worth staying up for. Someone said last night it went for 10 minutes and only for 15/25 point ads. I get better ads during the day...

But the morning one, between 7-8am eastern time, is really great.

Can u use this app on a kindle fire anyone know? I'm not sure if it has the internal mic or not. Tia!!

Yes, I just downloaded it to my Kindle Fire. It does require an external mic though. I just plugged in a pair of our ear buds that came with our iPhone since they have a little mic on them and so far it's working great!

Thanks so much! I never saw that menu under there! Just grabbed an extra 30 points!

Yeah that's a good one. I smash ads while doing my hair and makeup from 7 to 7:30 then run out the door for work.

I can't smash ads at work. Our WiFi has some setting that blocks them. Boooooooo

I wonder if Viggle anticipated that Itunes, (and something else), would run out of stock soon, and that's why they restocked with Sephora and JC Penny. If so, I wonder what other reward is about to run out?

I really wish they would give some indication when a reward reaches low stock. It's not fun being a few points away from something, and have it disappear with no warning.

How do you do that?

I'm new to all of this, so I'm still trying to figure this out. If I check in to a 2 hour show that has bonus points, do I have to watch the entire show to get the bonus points or can I check into a different bonus ponit show the second hour and get both bonuses? I'm not trying to cheat the system or anything. I just am not sure how it works. Thanks!

Well they just got Foot locker back Sunday and it's already out. I just got to 14000 5 minutes ago and they're gone.

I guess I'll hold out for it to come back.

I didn't get my bonus points for Conan either, just the show points for watching.
