Viggle App: Get rewards for watching television!

The Middle's play along is actually Modern Family Questions

I noticed that too, but still played along. Figured even if the questions got mixed, that I'd know the answers because I watched both shows! :lmao:

If what some of us had predicted comes true, then the other gift cards will be raised to match the $/point value of the $25 gift cards. So with $25 at 50,000 points, this means the following:

Estimates:
$5 GC 10,000 points
$10 GC 20,000 points
$15 30,000 points (Isn't Chilis the only $15 gift card?)

I had been saving up my points for a Best Buy card. But with all this going down, I decided to cash out for a couple Sephora cards while they are still 14,000 points. :thumbsup2 I predict tons of gift cards running out tonight, B&N is already gone.

This is Viggle we're talking about and they could possibly raise the gift cards higher than what I've estimated. Just have to wait until tomorrow morning to see. popcorn::

So to whoever was asking if you have to confirm your email to cash out at all, you do. I tried cashing out for a $5 starbucks card and it said i hadn't confirmed my email & it is required before redeeming any of the rewards. The link in the email will go to a place where you have to type in those letters and numbers to make sure you're a human.

just fyi, maybe if it doesn't appear for anyone else it's probaly because the email address was already confirmed when you signed up? After I confirmed my email, it worked fine.

Anyways hopefully that helps!

PS glad I happened to look here, I don't regularly look at their facebook page.. so glad to hear beforehand the points to redeem were going up... figured i'd go cash in some points sooner rather than later!!

maybe i'll go back to saving for BB for sometime...., in the meantime i got 8 starbucks cards :D yummm.

Actually this was also a huge problem when Viggle first came out. A lot of people were not getting e-mail conformations of their rewards. Which is a problem if you wanted to print it out.

So glad you mentioned it again in this thread, with so many new comers it's great to keep something like this fresh in everyone's mind. :thumbsup2

My husband recently joined Viggle through the Android app, and even though he hasn't cashed out yet, I had him resend that confirmation e-mail just so he wouldn't have to deal with it later. So he's good to go!

He did that by going to the "settings" page, (click on your pic, and then wheel button), scroll down and you'll find "Resend confirmation e-mail."

Thanks for this heads up last night. I cashed out for a couple Starbucks GCs and bought coffee for me and DH this morning. :thumbsup2 Yummmm love me a Skinny Caramel Latte.

Points are still the same, I am trying to get a BK one and it says insufficient points. Anyone else having issues?

Rewards did not increase to the amount I thought they would.

$5 GC 9,000
$10 18,000
$15 27,000

Not bad, but I'm still glad I cashed out. I got (2) $10 GC at 14,000 points, so I saved myself 8,000 points!

Just my personal opinion, but not really sure that the Chilis $15 GC is a great value at 27,000 points. Whenever I redeem for this, I usually cash out 2 at a time. And 54,000 points for $30 seems a little high to me. Just not sure that I'll be doing Chilis anymore.

Very happy to see the $5 GC at 9,000 points. Still a great deal, at least to me! :goodvibes

Gift cards just changed as you posted this, that's probably why you couldn't redeem. You should be good to go now.

I think Viggle will be around for a while. It does seem to be expanding with new advertisers and such. And while one can't be happy with the increase, I'm glad it's not as much as we all figured it would be. :thumbsup2

Yea, it's obvious Viggle is trying to balance out their business model to make a profit. Only problem is, I don't think they raised the gift cards enough, (gasp!), at least from a profit standpoint. Most other companies that do this same thing with the points for rewards, has it setup where you can only redeem a $25 gift card once maybe every 2 or 3 months.

We all get those newsletters that shows our average point totals for the week. My average is 3,000 points per day. That's about 90,000 points per month. Or almost $50 in gift cards. Not sure that Viggle can withstand every member cashing out that much, or even more with those who can max out everyday.

And these sweepstakes where Viggle is throwing out a gazzillion points here and there....I dont get it. It's like they are trying to go out of business sooner. I'll bet the winner of those 5 million points will wipe out the rewards catalog. And Viggle takes so long to restock as it is! :scared:

I'll still do Viggle. Figure I'll go for the ride for as long as it will last!

I logged out and logged back in and the rewards catalogue updated. The $5 rewards are now 9000 points. The $10 are 18000 and the $15 are 27000.

I'm glad I redeemed last night. I ended up with 2 JC Penney's nad 1 Starbucks. I don't think the new points are that bad but still glad they gave the heads up so we could cash out. I usually don't get too many points first thing in the morning but wow!! First show I opened up there was the 100 Snow White ad, twice. Then a bunch of 50 point ads. I don't want to stop but I have to leave the house soon. I'm still trying to map out my day tomorrow to make sure I'm able to check into Ellen.

I've got to say that this is probably the final straw for me when it comes to Viggle. I'm lucky to get to 2,000 points in a day now. I'm not going to spend my tv watching time at night now (~2-3 hours) watching the clock and annoying my family by switching channels to try and earn about $5 a week. Sorry but my time is more valuable than that.

Fewer earning opportunities, lower points per check-in (both bonus and per minute) and higher points for rewards all make Viggle far less appealing to me. I'm not saying that it isn't worth it for some but I have to imagine that there are going to be many more people who feel like I do.

I understand why they are doing what they are doing but as a long time participant in rewards sites, I have become very aware of those that are worth my time and those whose time requirements far outweigh the rewards. I have to say that Viggle has very quickly gone from a (very) rewarding program to one that just cost too much of my time for too little reward.

You don't have to turn the channel. I check in manually. You have to go through two tries of checking in by audio then it lets you do it manually. Plus sometimes I go online the next day and check into shows then. Really not much time involved. I've been getting all the bonus points with very little work. I hit the ads when I can.

I still haven't seen the 100 point Snow White one. Grrrrr

That stinks. I'm getting close to calling it quits.

Trust me - I know the Viggle tricks as I have been doing it for awhile ($200+ in rewards to date.) For me, watching the clock to see when I can check into the next show takes away from the enjoyment of my tv time. For instance, last night was a really good 2 hour episode of Criminal Minds. Even thought I was enjoying it, I kept checking Viggle to see what show I should check into next. I thought to myself that it was ridiculous because I wasn't really enjoying the program I wanted to watch.

My husband reminded me that Viggle also perpetuates one of my biggest pet peeves with today's society and especially our youth. We are are bombarded with so many stimuli that it becomes very hard to focus on one task for very long. Most kids don't have very long attention spans and quite frankly neither do most adults. Viggle certainly encourages rather than discourages this kind of behavior! I can almost guarantee that the day will come when Viggle won't allow you to check into more than 1 or 2 bonus shows in a given time period. Networks want you to watch the entire program not just 10 minutes.

I'm not criticizing anyone for continuing to earn through Viggle. I'm just saying that for me enough is finally enough. There are too many aspects of it that make it not worth my time or effort.

Ever since I downloaded the new version, I haven't been able to check in manually (while watching something else)...but I used to do it all the time. Instead of the keyboard popping up after 2 tries, it just keeps wanting to do the audio check in. Not sure why...:confused3

But I do the same. I'll check into the few shows we're watching that night, and then the next day I'll search for clips of the other Featured Shows I missed, or sometimes I'll record some if our DVR isn't too full. Also, iTunes has most of the Featured Shows, and allows you to play a 30 second clip. Itunes is awesome for this! :thumbsup2

Takes a few hours everyday, not that bad: I can check into 5 shows per hour, if I stay on top of it. Most days I have 100% success, and other days there will be 1 or 2 shows that I can't get the audio to match....it happens.

I was so close to redeeming my points for Barnes and Nobel to get a Nook Color. Now B&N is not on there and when it does come back it will probably cost me more points.
