If I become a DVC member, do you get your choice of rooms. For example can you get the pool view or lake view? How does this work.

Thanks in Advance, I am getting closer to becoming an owner. Just need to work through some issues.

<font face="times" size="+0">hi Roger. regardless of whether or not you are a member, you don't really get to choose your room. ultimately the Front Desk or the room assignor at the resort will assign you to a room. sometimes if you're lucky, the CM checking you in might tell you they have RoomX and RoomY available at that time, and ask you which you'd prefer.

when you book a room reservation, you can specify some room requests (general requests are more reasonable, such as "golf view" or "near bus stop" or "pool view"). DVC has been very clear that requests cannot be guaranteed.

the only resort where you can kind of narrow down your room view is BWV, where there are 3 categories (Boardwalk View, Standard View, and Pool/Garden View). actually, at VB you can also book Inn Rooms w/ Ocean View.

I am going to guess that you are most likely talking about SSR. Depending on where you are staying you will have to always put in the view you want as a perference. For example. If you stay at OKW you can request a golf course view, however, it does not mean that you will get it. If you are staying at Boardwalk you can either take a standard view or a preferred view. Preferred views are more points at Boadrwalk. You dont get to choose a certain room, although you can ask, but it is not a guarantee just as a pool view or lake view is not a guarantee either. When we submit our preferences our first is always non-smoking and then we go from there such as first floor, bus stop area, pool area etc. Hope this helps.
