Do any of the concierge level DVC 2 Bedrooms have any kind of Animal view. Or, have you ever lucked out and gotten a 2-bedroom with a better view that wasn't DVC?

When we talked with concierge about it, they said half of the rooms face the pool and the other half (above the check-in) face a savanna (I think sunset) but it is more of an alcove there and he said the view is not very good, with not many animals. But others on the forum have said they have seen some animals go into the alcove throughout their stay. Honestly, it doesn't matter much as there are some great lookouts throughout the hotel to view the animals. We were on the pool side and did see a few animals from the far side beyond the pool but it was too far away to enjoy the the view really.

IMO the CL DVC rooms have a crappy view but recent reports are that some animals are making there way to the dead end savanna at CL. Problem is, you can't request the CL room view so you don't know what you will get, could be savanna could be roof top/pool view.

This is from a concierge 1BR:

Or the pool view that we've been assigned 80% of the time:

So yes, there are better 2BR views.

To be clear for others reading, these are the views from the studios, 1 bedroom and 2 bedroom CL DVC units, nice photos KAT!

The club level savanna view is not great including because of the the overhang that partly blocks views and because they are located in an alcove at the very bottom corner of the Sunset savanna. There are three 2BR lock-offs (a combined 1BR and studio) that have the savanna view, one of which is the accessible unit. There are two 2BR lock-0ffs with pool view. You cannot request view with the club level rooms and it is luck of the draw. Generally, if what you want is good savanna view then reserve a savanna view room. If instead what you want is a lounge and other club level services, then reserve club level.

Be aware that getting a club level room can be very difficult. The studios (and as a result 2BRs) disappear 80% of the time before the 11 month window even opens or within moments after it opens. One bedrooms tend to last longer but even those can disappear very quickly at the 11 month window during DVC's high demand season (late Sep to marathon weekend in Jan) and sometimes during the rest of the year.

Don't book the AKV Concierge villas for the view. Book them for access to the lounge, daily full cleaning and turn down service.

I've stayed club level a few times and the view does generally suck. We've seen some giraffes and zebras, but they are very sporadic. Like someone said, it is not a room for the view, but more for the amenities that come with club level.

Back in the old days when you could smoke in your room, these rooms on the sixth floor were the smoking optional rooms at AKL.
