Convince me why I should take the Woods View over the Standard View at the WL when I am going with a friend and her two children age 11 and 13 and will spend little time in the room since this there first visit to WDW and my first visit to WL if you can please:D

Maybe I'm wrong, but it sounds like you've already convinced yourself that you don't need woodsview. :smooth:

If you really don't think you'll be spending much time in teh room then I think I'd pass on the view and spend my savings on extra desserts :)

I stayed in a wood's view last time and while it was nice and quiet all I could really see during the day were trees and I wasn't really in my room at all during the day anyway. In the evening we saw the fireworks once thru the trees, but it wasn't like being in the MK to see the fireworks. Nice perk, but not enough to make me pay extra for woods view again.

So, this time we booked a standard room in order to save money. The WL is absolutely beautiful and really don't care what my view is. If I want to see stuff I'll leave my room and walk around. I don't need to have a great view.

No matter what you decide you will love the WL. If you're trying to save a few bucks you will definitely be happy with a standard view.

I''m going to ditto all of that! We just had a woods view, and I won't pay extra for it again. The WL is gorgeous! You'll love it!

We had booked a standard view for last month, but received an upgrade to woods view at check in. While we definitely enjoyed it while we were in the room, I don't think I would pay extra for it. The best part was seeing the fireworks from our balcony, but we were only there to see them twice during the week.

All things considered I think we enjoyed the view from our front door........that fabulous lobby.........more than we did the view from the back.

A mere nine hours ago I was at the WL, now back in B'klyn. We were in room 6020 which is a smoking room. I think we were right above the Otter Pond - we were above a body of water with green plant like stuff floating in it and did see an otter this morning.
This was a woods view room and we could see the CR, the monorail and had a perfect veiw of the MK fireworks.

You can walk the hallways and there are areas, (windows), where you can look out to see the views. In the north wing there is even a lookout where you can look down into artist's Point Dining room.
So you can see all the views feom the resort and not have a room in any special area.
