Knowing that a request is just that, are there any particular views at the GCV that I should request?

Paradise Pier view (not just park view), high floor. If you post which room type you have, nonsuch can tell you the exact room numbers listed in order of preference to email to them. I've followed her advice and gotten some great rooms. Of course, I've also had my requests ignored - they do their best, but they have to work with what's available.

Great advice. We were there 2 summers ago and had just this view....simply amazing. One of the best views we have ever had!!

Enjoy your trip! :goodvibes

Sounds like a great view! I have booked a studio. I've had those requests ignored before, too, so I know what you mean! Fortunately, I don't let things like that ruin my vacation.

On the VGC Lover's Thread there is a map of the wing, or at least a link to it. About 2/3 of the rooms face the park, and 1/3 face the pool, so your odds are good of getting park view. Even when we were on the 2nd floor facing the park the view was still beautiful. Of our three big trips, we've had one facing the pool and two facing the park, so the odds have worked out well for us ...

We just bought at Grand Cal. and haven't stayed there yet. I am interested in the views too. Do all the villas have some kind of view (i.e. pool or park) other than a parking lot, bushes, etc.?

From what I can see on the rooms map received in my package, all villas should see something probably on the second level, but I wonder about first floor rooms.

Our 1st floor room had a wonderful view of the tall wall that separates DCA from VGC (at least I think that's what the wall is there for).

Paradise Pier view is the best view to request in my opinion, but as long as you are at least on the 2nd floor or higher you'll have a decent view. All rooms have pool or park view at least. I requested the Paradise Pier view when we went in June and was initially disappointed to get a pool view, but it was still good. The limited number of rooms makes it harder to get specific requests.

I think the day you check in matters sometimes. The only time we did not get the room request met was on a Saturday check in during the DL half marathon weekend. There probably wasn't many options for us so we got a 2nd floor pool view but it was lovely. This last trip we had the 2 bdrm 6502/6504 lockoff facing Paradise Pier. It was amazing. I told everyone not to expect this every trip but if I could, THAT is the room I would want every time.

On our last stay there, we were on the 1st floor. I was initially really bummed (we also had the "wall view"). But, I quickly discovered that 1) it was super fast to get out to the pool area since we were near the entrance and didn't have to deal with elevators and 2) we had a great shortcut from our patio to the grill!

We have a booking for December. If I want to request a room with a view how do I do this?

Do I call up the member services and have it added to the reservation as a request, or do you call up the villas a few days before and speak directly to the staff and have them add it to the request, or do you ask at check-in?

I realize it is just a request, but I'm not clear how to go about placing the request.

We had a room like this. We were on the theme park side but I foolishly never thought to mention "higher floor". Oh well we didn't spend much time out there anyway. And it was very quiet.

Call MS. They will attach it to your reservation.
