Viewing waitlisted ressie on DVC site

I've never waitlisted before, so bear with me....

I have a studio reserved at VWL for 3/18 - 3/22. A friend decided she'd like to join me, so I called today to see if another studio would be available. There was one open for 3/20 and 3/21, and they put me on the waitlist for 3/18 and 3/19. We did the auto-confirm thing. I asked how I would know if the waitlist came through, and the CM told me that I could tell by looking on the member site.

I just got home from work and checked out the reservations on the Vacation Details page. I see a ressie from 3/18-3/22 (my original ressie), one for 3/18-3/19, and one for 3/20-3/21. I don't any indication of a waitlist situation at all, all of the reservations look the same. I also looked at the Points Activity page, that shows two reservations being made today.

Am I not looking in the right place? Is it possible that the waitlist already came through and it's an actual reservation now?

I'd say that's exactly what happened. You can't view waitlist activity on the DVC site. It appears that you have your reservations all set!

I'd call MS though and make sure that your 18-19th reservation is linked to your 20-21st one. I'm sure it is, since it was waitlisted. On the other hand, it would be a quick call to MS and would ensure that your friend doesn't have to move in the middle of the stay.

Your waitlist doesn't show up on the page. It sounds like it came through and the reservation has been made for your friend for 3/18-3/21 now. Congratulations!

I've done the auto waitlist ALOT lately and it looks like you might be missing one night. Since one ressie says 3/18-3/19 and the other says 3/20-3/21 (and your own probably says 3/18-3/22), it looks like you're missing the night of the 19th (also on the one that says 3/20-3/21, are you sure you are reserved for the night of the 21st, because it should say 22 if that is your check out date -- just like your original one). You need one more saying 3/19-3/20. What happened is that you are waitlisted for two nights and one of your nights came in, but the other has not. You need to call tomorrow and check with MS. While you can not check what you are waitlisted for, you can check your site to see when you get it. I recenty was waited listed for 3 nights at the BWV and checked daily to see when they came through. There are about 7 different parts of this reservation, but they are linked together as I got one confirmation with all dates. They would looks exactly like you explained. But you need to double check. Also you can check to see how many points have been taken away recently, that should also be an indicator.

I don't think I had the dates right in my post....one reservation has a check-in day of 3/18 and a check-out day of 3/20, and the other reservation has a check-in day of 3/20 and a check-out day of 3/22. So it looks like I got both days.

Is it common to have a waitlisted reservation come through on the same day? I'm thrilled, I really wasn't expecting to get it at all!

We got almost those exact days at BCV with a waitlist that only took about 4 days. It's funny though, VWL was our first choice, but I wasn't confident that we'd get all of our days. I went with BCV because they had 2 nights for our original request v. WL only having 1. I guess we would've gotten it!
