We, a total of eight, will be at MNSSHP next Friday. It seems, some time ago, I read the area of Fantasyland that was once Toontown to be a good viewing location for nightly fireworks. I realize this means missing out on the castle projection show, but if we find ourselves in an area that is much less crowded than in front of the castle, it may be worth missing the show. Thoughts?

The projection show is the same (at least as far as I can tell the few times I've seen it, please correct me if I'm wrong so I can pay extra close attention to the differences) as the standard one on regular park nights. So if you've seen it already and don't care to not see it and are fine with watching the fireworks from there, then do it.

I really do prefer the HalloWishes fireworks from main street, the hub area specifically. The fireworks are larger and shoot off from not only the castle, so aesthetically its beautiful to be in the middle.

We LOVE seeing the fireworks from New Fantasyland! We don't think the castle projections are worth dealing with the crowds. Honestly, I think that whole thing is boring...but that is probably just me.

I think Storybook Circus (which replaced Mickey's Toon Town Fair) is a poor area for fireworks viewing. I think you may be thinking of New Fantasyland proper, directly between Be Our Guest and Cinderella's Castle. This is not an ideal location, since fireworks will be going off in opposite directions from here, but is one way to see the fireworks while avoiding Main Street and Hub crowds. Neither area affords any view of Celebrate the Magic (the castle projection show).

This is incorrect. Celebrate the Magic is different on party nights than it is on regular nights.

Thanks for letting me know. They seem the same, maybe except for a small section of it, that I can remember off the top of my head. I will have to pay better attention next month.

Hm, my recollection is they are very different. Did you go Tuesday night or are you remembering from previous years?

I was at MNSSHP last year and the year before that - maybe the show is significantly different this year? I guess I'll see when we're there for the party on Oct 19.

Me too. I remember significant differences between party CtMs and regular CtMs, interesting. Oh well, someone will hopefully come along and clarify for both of us but I'm pretty confident they are different.

We watched the fireworks from the 7DMT queue last year at the Halloween party and we watched them this summer from that big empty space right behind the carousel. They were AMAZING!!! They were going off all around us and were very loud! We'll never fight crowds again to watch them from the hub. So not worth being crammed in those spaces like sardines when you can have plenty of space in Fantasyland.

I watched from the Contemporary on Tuesday, but it seemed to be the same show they play on non-party nights. They recently switched over to the fall version of CtM which includes a villans section and it seemed to be the same (I don't know if they changed the show seasonally last year or not), but maybe someone who was in the park that night can say for sure

I've seen a Halloween-themed CtM online that I assumed was only shown at the parties just like HalloWishes is only shown at the parties.

A fall version maybe that's the difference ... the part with Dr. Facilier and a bunch of dancing ghosts, if I'm remembering correctly. But other than that the rest of the show is the same, right?

The part with Dr Facilier, Chernabog, and Ursula are all part of the regular fall show. I'm not sure how recently they switched it over, but that's the version I saw Sunday night. The rest of the show should be the same throughout the year (during the summer they had a beach themed section instead of the villans section)

In 2013 (the last time we were at a MNSSHP), we did two parties. Our son is not a big fan of loud noises, which means he's not the biggest fan of fireworks, so we told him that we'd "hide out" from the fireworks during the second party. We decided that the ToT trail between Tomorrowland and Storybook Circus would be perfect. OMG, how wrong we were. As it turns out, that's pretty much where they shoot the fireworks from, so they were pretty much directly overhead. We took him right into the middle of his worst nightmare and we felt horrible.

So that being said...it was actually an awesome area to see the fireworks. There was no one on the trail at that time but us and the CMs, and as I said, the fireworks were directly over our heads. It seems like they're changed the direction of the trail this year, but it might be worth checking out.

Ok, I'll see if my photos show up. We were at Tuesday's party. We watched the fireworks from behind the castle, and a little past the carousel. I think right by where Snow White was meeting (I just remember there were turrets like on the castle). The large fireworks were actually behind us, the little streaks were between the castle and us.image.jpgimage.jpg

ETA: It was not very crowded back there. Several people but lots of elbow room. Not claustrophobic at all.

I'm convinced...we're going to park ourselves in Fantasyland, behind the castle in an area where you all have indicated. We leave tomorrow and I am beyond excited!! Thanks so much for your input...it was so helpful! :thanks:
