So I've recieved word that the viewfinders at the Marina are now permanent and can't be moved anymore. Some of the pictures that made us love the Marina didn't have the viewfinders in them, and now the more and more I look at them... they're so ugly and obtrusive!!

The suggestion was to put floral arrangements in front of them :confused3

They're 2 different sizes and I think it would take an extreme arrangement to cover them. Am I right that they totally ruin the ambiance??

I'll take any insight that you have to try to make me feel better about this!!

What about tall urns/vases filled with branches or tall bunches of wheat in front of the viewfinders? It would fit the season and could be done quite elegantly.

Either that or just tie some big bows onto them in your color and use them as part of the decor...:rolleyes1

kind of thought about that... but will I lose the castle with that??

if the one wasn't so tall i could probably figure it out. i think i need to go home and draw it out. still accepting ideas!!

Lol, Dave said to get cardboard cutouts of our friends and cover them up as a maid of honor and best man

Chiffon covered columns with arrangements on top?

I think you're going in the right direction, lol.

When I mean I want to cover them.... I don't want to see them at any angle, lol. What if I got 3 tall columns on each side covered in some kind of linen that's maybe covering it in some design (instead of just hanging), then have an arrangement in the front of it covering the fact that it's just hanging linen. Then out of the back have a more sheer chiffon that drapes downwards criss/crossing to the other side so it kind of frames where the officiant will be and will leave the castle open. I can see this in my head, but to try to explain it is kind of hilarious  I'm glad the Marina is cheaper than the WP because it's going to take $1000 to cover up those viewfinders :rotfl:

If you understood half of my vision... what do you think??

okay... vision #2

picture a mini version of a chuppah on each side but instead of it being open, it would have a black linen covering the viewfinder, and silver chiffon accents coming down the side... with an arrangement of callas in the front. this would be done on both sides.

it made sense when i just drew it on a post it, lol!
